Justin Timberlake tackles Janet Jackson's breast at 20 yrd line, wins superbowl.

I'll get the news story here as soon as I can find it, but basically here's what happened:

During the superbowl halftime show performance, Justin Timberlake yanked off the right-handed side of the brasierre on Janet Jackson's costume, exposing her sweaty right breast and nipple clamp for all the stadium and national television audience to see.

Fortunately, the damage was minimized due to the fact that no one with a pulse ever watches the halftime show. Even so, the damage has certainly been done to the flatworm and "people experiencing cardiac arrest from too many pork rinds" audience demographic.

Yes folks, sadly this means that the memories of such peddling schlock as the insipid Pink, Madonna, and Britney Spears gladiator battle commercial will be forever overshadowed by the bouncing black spectre of Janet Jackson's exposed titty, much to the advertiser's dismay.

Now, being a life-drawing artist, I've seen and studied more breasts than the average person, so it really isn't a shock to me. Hell, I don't even think public nudity is that big a deal, and people who react with shock to naked bodies are usually flipping out over nothing.

The enjoyment that I get out of this, of course, is how utterly stupid it is in only the most dadaistic sense of irony, and in the conniptions that the uptight "moral" middle America is no doubt going through at this very moment.

    SHOCK! SCANDAL! HARLOT! SHAME! OUTRAGE!

so basically, the people performing can act out sexual positions, show almost every part of their bodies, but a nipple is too much? eh. i'm betting the european people reading this are laughing, because nudity is shown regularly on tv in a lot of the european countries I've been to.

I used it for lack of a better term to describe "brilliantly vebose levels of unintentionally laughable stupidity" or something to that effect, but "bulldada" isn't in the dictionary yet.

The scary part is, like bioluminescent green fluid pumped into the spinal column of an emaciated corpse, this stunt probably just injected some artificial life into both of their flailing careers.

Apparently Justin Timberlake would like to apoligize for that 'wardrobe malfunction.'

    http://news.ninemsn.com.au/Entertain...tory_54721.asp

Living in Australia I didn't get to see the Superbowl but I saw a screen cap of the incident and it looks to me like it was planned...unless Janet Jackson wears those little nipple covers all day (maybe she's a fan of Slaine?).

    So do I.

Grandmas everywhere; "Oh my gosh, Michael Jackson is a girl!"

Also: Much to my (and Janet/Justin's) disappointment, I don't think anyone's really all that offended by it at this point. People are just dully shocked by it, but it was just such a contrived and stupid show-biz stunt that really, I don't think hardly anyone cares beyond cracking jokes over it.

OH MY GOD! MTV IS MADE OF PEOPLE!

Useless shyts who do nothing but crap like this it seems. I want to see a pop star who doesn't whine, someone who you can actually respect instead of laugh at. That's a long shot though.

Worst for me is stars who write songs that whine and complain about their lives while they live it up with more money, fame and undeserved respect than most of us will probably ever see. I'm looking at you Pink, Fred Durst, Good Charlotte, and many many more!

Btw, this was definitely staged. By MTV or by the stars I don't know, but it was staged.

    Hey everyone,

    DanSTC - You wrote, "

Now, being a life-drawing artist, I've seen and studied more breasts than the average person, so it really isn't a shock to me. Hell, I don't even think public nudity is that big a deal, and people who react with shock to naked bodies are usually flipping out over nothing.
I half agree with you that public nudity isn't that much of a shock, or a big deal now days. To me, Janet's tit hanging out was great, but not too much of a shock because I see my girlfirends tits everyday. Plus I draw and paint tits all the time. In fact if your an adult who has watched porn or has a hot wife who you see naked all the time then nudity isn't going to be as shocking. But no one in here can deny the fact that before you where an adult, when you had never seen a tit in your life, that it wasn't shocking and arousing. I think that if anyone is flipping out over this it would be the parents to the children who were watching the superbowl and how , "to them" showing Janets tit was very inappropriate. To me, and most guys who are young adults and don't have kids, I don't care, show me all the tits possible. But to those people with children, it's a different story. I think the people who are flipping out over nothing are all those people who want to jump on the ban wagon of complaining about Janets tit for the sake of just complainting to take sides. In the end, it's just a tit. Enjoy it. Unless your a parent who really has a reason to get angry about it. Or an angry, sexually deprived feminist who hates men for liking to see naked women. And the half time show in sports in general is all about seeing sexy women shake it. In basketball the girls wear their high skirts and shake their pom poms and do all sorts of things while we watch and enjoy. And just in case there's any women in here, I'm not trying to come off as some guy who thinks it's great to exploit women. But at the same time, it's not wrong for a woman who feels sexy to want to shake it.

Cotron - AGREEEED!!! I want to say more, but you've said it all with just that statement!!!

Azazel - I agree, Justin exposing Janets nipple was obviously planned. They say Justin apologises for the 'wardrobe malfuncation'? I'm annoyed that anyone in the public would buy that. It's obvious that the nipple stunt he an Janet pulled was just a way to get there names in the papers next to the words, "SUPERBOWL" so people will talk about them, possibly get interviewed or get on David Letterman to talk about it, perhaps sell some more albums. It's all about fame money in the end.

I gave up watching football seriously 10 years ago because it all seemed fake to me, like people pay teams to win or loose on purpose, but I decided to glance at the game for a moment, ended up watching the whole thing, and I have to say it was a pretty rough and exciting game. It had it's moments. Still funny that the superbowl is such a big event in this country. I guess it's because it reminds people about what it's like to be the warrior in battle, reminds about confidence, the thrill of winning and the upset of defeat, the tension of trying your best, about using sheer power and strength to push your way to the end. Most people don't get to go out and do that physically so they live through it by watching the game, watching other people do it for them. Kind of like watching a movie, but this is real life, so it's different, especially of your there at front row seats.

    -Chris

As for exposure to children, unless he's formula-fed, it's nothing junior hasn't become intimately familiar with before.

I just don't understand why there's so much shame regarding the female boobs. I can understand keeping genitals covered given what we use them for, but breasts? It's kind of silly.

Also, many countries already allow female breasts to be shown on television all the time, and even allow women to go topless at beaches. We're just so puritannically uptight here in the states regarding boobies...

Additionally, I have the sneaking suspicion that Janet's breast was the supposed to be the special guest performer.

Yeah, it's a very scary notion that in America, we're allow to see someone getting their head blown off and their juicy brains splattered on a white wall, but seeing a nipple being gently caressed is a no no.

And, actually, what you said about how a child who gets breast fed sees nipples all the time, so how can a child seeing a breast be bad, I agree. Africa, in some parts, women walk around with their breasts hanging out all the time, in fact, many people in some areas are naked all the time and children see it all the time. Yet, in America, that would be bad. It's kind of ridiculous.

Whats even more ridiculous is, we aren't allowed to see breasts on tv, unless it is the science channel and they are showing a culture who's people walk around with their breasts exposed. So what does that say about how America views some other cultures?

You know, it´s not that great being bombarded with breast all the time, especially since 99% of the breasts that are shown on TV are there to sell us useless crap. I like the fact that there is no breast ban on swedish TV, but i am sad that it is used in such a way as it is.

Other then that, go breasts! (Especially yours J, if you´re reading this.. you lurker)

Also, by the logic of our society regarding violence and sex, I think Janet could've reduced the public outrage of her exposure if she opened fire on the audience with her vicious breast.

Yeah, those porn hotline ads are really dumb. And every channel seems to show them past 12:00.

If you are going to show porn, then at least do it right.

what has happened is that there is a large group of people in america who are "morally upright" More like uptight, and in totally irresponsible, ignorrant, and unreasonable ways. I agree, violence is being shown everywhere, so why is it more of a "morally excepted" subject than sex? What these "moral" people are doing to the younger generations is creating unhealthy sexual behavior/tendencies/views.

Take little johnny as an example. Ok, Little Johnny was brought up to be a "fine, upstganding citizen." One day he discovers the vast, world-wide, porn industry, and its good and bad sides. He has been tought that sex is wrong unless it's to pro-create,but he likes the sight of breasts, viginas, and people partaking in sexual behavior. So what does he do? He secretly looks at porn w/o people's knowledge. It becomes his obsession. He get's so obssesed that one day he just SNAPS. But no, he cqan't have sex with a person if people find out. That would just be plain wrong! The human body isn't a beautiful work of art!(so his moral parents have tought him) So he lashes out one day and goes off and either becomes a porn freak, sexual asaulter, or gay(maybe even kills himself due to the lack of sexual knowledge he has gained).

Reason 1 why society should be more involved in a MATURE way on the topic of sex. Sure, exploitations will happen, but if there are more people that understand that the human body is more than just a sex toy, or in other cases more than just a thing our souls reside in, and is really a work of art, then i think the exploitations won't be as effective. Think about it. An exploitation is really only an exploitation because it has shock value. If more people are informed, and more people see the human body as an essential element of life, then the shock value will be gone.

so yea....point: sex is good, we wouldn't exist w/o it, and the human body is more than just a piece of meat.:chug:

    Here's my 2 cents.
Sex is natural, desire of sexual contact with the opposite and sometimes the same sex is natural, and god wants us to be responsible in our sex life (my opinion, yours may differ).
I was brought up to believe that mommy and daddy likes each other very much, go to bed and all that sh*t, 9 months later and the next thing they know is they need to buy a playstation.
What people (kids) need to learn in my opinion is that there is more to sex than in, out, baby. It is a part of our daily social life. Looking at boobies and screaming "Oh my, the kids!" is as responsible as not teaching them bees and flowers. Ppl need to be more relaxed about that. If you'd show boobs without that bullsh*t softsex context they always have to be placed in, well, that'd be a start. But MTV is among the first to show sex in ways it is not.
I have a hard time with people who think sex is a status symbol or a must. I have a problem with people who think sex is forbidden.
It's there. It's part of your life. Accept it. And please, MTV: don't turn it into some kind of travesty.
