that lizard is really good. your painting is improving lots
my "dislike" is that the body seems a little flat, i think its the direction of the strokes, they dont really give it a rounded feel (whereas the rest of the lizzard head does, like his big jaw there)
I really like the updates!
the studies look great and the digital lizard as well.
It just still feels a little flat. What helps me at this stage is looking at the painting blurred and with just one eye. this makes me see the animal as a complete shape and forget about all the little scales for a second. This can help seeing where the biggest and especially darkest bodyshadows are.
looking forward to more!
aks9: Thanx a lot for the crit, I see what you mean, I think I rushed too much and didn't pay so much attention to body as for head. oma: Thanx a lot Karein: Thank you, really appreciate! monotony: Thanx for stopping by, I see this problem with lizard now
So I have a lot of troubles with VOLUME, how to show it properly and believeble? Try to study it on this sketch, posted it also in "CRITIQUE CENTER & W.I.P. SHOWCASE", because I'd really like to figure it out. Attachment 1113121
If you're having problems with volume then you should check out Glenn Vilppu's Drawing Manual. He's the full-flex master when it comes to volume. It's a very simple approach really, and he's a great teacher. Do give it a look.
