To see the world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.

"Contrary to the belief of the layman, the essential of art is not to imitate nature, but under the guise of imitation to stir up excitement with pure plastic elements: measurements, directions, ornaments, lights, values, colors, substances, divided and organized according to the injunctions of natural laws. While so occupied, the artist never ceases to be subservient to nature, but instead of imitating the incidents in a paltry way, he imitates the laws."-Andre Lhote

My concept is not a war on an city, but instead a near-future economic war in which factories and chemical refineries are attacked. Sort of a war to sabotage the resources of the opposing side instead of directly going after civilians themselves.

Perhaps this could be an environmental war, where extremist environmentalists with a cleaner but more expensive technology resort to terroristic means by taking down major refineries in order to raise the price of their less eco-friendly competition so that their own methods are also cheaper by comparison.

So in this scene, the opposing side/eco warriors have set up rocket launchers on the upper scaffolds (that's what that gun thing is in the relative foreground) and are aiming at storage tanks.

    My votes went:

    -ATAnderson

When i as viewer sees this image , i think imediately war and battlefield. I like the "grey" feeling of despair there, the rain, the troops that seem on defence positions awaiting(?) the inevitable, the composition of the painting, the... the....
really really nice piece of work! I will be watching ya!
    (love the mgs-like-mecha)

    -Jpacer

Some cool work here too, not a clear image though, but its hidden under the "dark" and "blurring" feeling of the war. Here the emotions speak most, and thats why i like it. You maybe not realise what and why, but you do realise it is a hellzone from a war and you really must get the heck out of there!!!It also reminds me old 19th century paintings!!! Keep up!

    -JanJager

The feeling of WW1 , but a "nice and sweet" feeling of the battefield. You know war is not only the sad and ugly things, but beautifull moments happens too, especially in the snow. Remember that story of that famous writer about a soldier who was hidden in a trench at ww1 and for some minutes he was captivated by the melody of a bird who was singing a beautiful sound in the hell of the war, and when he approached the bird to go closer to that sweet and peaceful melody that made the war like a paradise, his head was a little seen from the trences and he got headshoted by the enemies. Sweet . I just love the "warm and lighty" door under the tank

    -wilkerson

MMm, first time in EoW huh? Make sure its not the last one.!Your composition and colors are SO alive that i really aside from the equipment , i dont know where and when this is happening. It could be a modern war, it could be a ww1 war , it could be a fantasy war. I like it! It reminds me for a reason this .

    http://northstarchronicle.files.word...tatoeaters.jpg
    (van gogh)

    dont ask why.
    Keep sketching!!!

    -Ramza

No comment. Really really clever. A war zone does not always involves tanks and artillery .

in case you hadn't noticed, I am tryign to cut down on the slack time and the time between deadline and closing.... I still am leving a little wobble room, but ifyou have your work in by deadline...(which is midnight, anywhere in the world) you' be safe

I decided to neutralize my vote... Besides all the good work that I've seen here it is very difficult to pick and choose.

Personally I like the different interpretations that Ramza and Zirn... (sorry I can't spell worth a crap)... came up with.

The technical expertize that others have shown here also is helping me realize my digital technique needs more work...
