It's a good idea to be more forthcoming about your financial parameters and expectations when asking for bids. Set budget parameters based on the industry; ability to offer pro rates for pro-quality work will attract a greater number of quality professionals (art per book budget starting at 8000 including colour), mid-range company rates (5000+), and lower. Further, the length of the commitment to the projects is important to know; bidding for 3x22-page issues is quite different than 4x48-page issues or 12x22-page issues.

Other points of reference would be rights, royalties, pay schedules and similar financial concerns. Blind bidding can turn off any number of established comics professionals.

    Best of luck!
