Hello! It's great to be on the forums.
I'm new here, and CA seems like an great place to learn and show some of my work. I'm 18 and currently go to school at CCAD (Columbus College of Art and Design). I'm a freshman and planning to major in either illustration or animation...can't decide! I'm trying to get photoshop and painter... they look so cool...but hey, it could be a while.
I can't put my ACTUAL sketchbook online for like a month, so here's a bunch of my random works IN TOTAL RANDOM ORDER(that i happened to have on my computer lol). I hope you like it.
acrylic/ metallic paint
this is my coil project i did for ceramics class
my slab project. mimic ice mineral deposits?
crappy little cup with a CAT ON IT
a ton of these little animal guys were made, they're roughly 1/2 inch long, and were anything from a duck to a lion. I sold most of them, and unfortunately don't have pics..
black and white tempera
this is my latest oil painting i have done in class
drawing midterm, graphite
haha that's right. acrylic btw
Gandhi watercolor Batik (wax technique)
ahaha yea this was done in my whole manga-crazed stage...I thought i should include it because it took forever. (i tried to make my own manga drawing style here)
it's in pen

Love it! The pirate is awsome!!
It's so fun that three of us are on here now! I'm really fond of the graphite piece with the skeleton torso; negative space is NEAT. If I were to suggest something, I'd say to do some gesture and skeletal studies of human or animal anatomy, as those are what seem to help me the most. Keep posting!
Looks like a good start to your sketchbook. One piece of advice for now...
On your paintings, watch the saturation of your colors. Real world objects are usually much more muted when you really examine them, and the overt brightness can be a bit hard on the eyes.
Keep at it!
As the ego shrinks, so the spirit expands.

I drew this from a reflection in a window, the streets are past the window. I'm thinking as I'm looking at the schools and businesses... does the system really work?

It really looks like you
I really havn't been doing art like I should this summer >.> ...so for now...
This is a sick model we had at the time in class. She kept moving her head to cough and sneeze continually, so her head never got finished... but I like the way the body turned out.
[sorry, bad lighting :/ ]
