The original Eastman and Laird comics did a really good job of this (particularly the City at War story arc), if you haven't read them. I agree, though, that they've been very kid-oriented ever since, and I'd love to see them handled in a darker way again. The art is fantastic; I especially like the way you handled Raph's physique--very fitting.

The art is fantastic and I can't help but be excited for this. Finally the turtles are being taken more seriously, which I thought that's how they should have been all this time. I have to see your styles for Mike or Don, nice work!

Wow dude, I really love the sublety of Leonardo. Have been an fan of the turtles all my life! Love to see you take them to a more realistic level. One small crit: in my own opinion Raph is a bit overdone muscular-wise. But thats definite non-professional opion.

I really like these interpretations; most especially the way you've individualized the different turtles, rather than making them cookie cutter specimens of the species.
Dunno if it's because I'm so sick of seeing Wolverine everywhere, but I think the image with the sai would be better if they were held by the handles. Just my own personal nitpick.
Good stuff..let's see more!

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. And I totally get what you're saying about the sai. I really want to do poses that haven't been seen before (unlike this one). Make him really feel like a ninja master who prefers the sai, not just a ninja turtle posing with a sai. That's done so much. Didn't succeed here, but I'll get it.
Oh, and they'll be using other weapons besides their traditional ones, too.

After trying just a few pages of a full color comic I can definitely appreciate this. Especially doing it alone, takes forever.
Fine work.
