    Unhappy My OC WIP

I need some help on three things: lighting, face anatomy, and nose.

I've been working with a reference picture, but the lighting in the reference isn't exactly what I'm looking for. Originally, half his face was suppose to be completely in shadow. I don't know if that will still look right. I'm picturing a different colored light source, maybe? Any suggestions on how to make this less flat looking?

I think there might be some problems in the anatomy of the face too. If you think somethings off, please let me know, because I can't really tell anymore (even when I do the horizontal flip).

One more thing, I'm awful at noses. Does his nose look weird?

His skin tones are really dark compared to his shirt collar and the color seems a little red for his face, If you have colored light, the light has to affect everything the same way in the scene, so the collar would have the light color in it. Lower the value of the shirt to start to get it in line with everything else.

I know the lighting on the shirt doesn't seem to match, but I thought it was just me at first. I'll try to darken his clothes and brighten his face.

I think this is quite nice. Look at the line of his mouth and bottom of his nose and then compare them to the line of his eyes, they're slightly off.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.
