Question The history of concept art and the methods used.

Hi all, for school I need to write a paper (2 - 4 pages) on a subject of (more or less) my choosing. I chose the subject "the history of concept art and the methods used" (rough translation). I need to use sources from professional (internet-)magazines, blogs, experts,... The more "scientific" the better.
So, my question; do you guys know any good sources that I could use? All help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Alcaeus

Also don't forget about other major fields that use concept art and industrial design: transportation/vehicle design, product design, etc. Basicaly anything that is manufactured or built relies first on an artist visualizing or "conceptualizing" what it will look like...even architecture and fashion rely on concept art. So as cool and fun as concept art is in the entertainment/media industries, it is only a small part of the field. Good luck with your paper - I remember doing a major paper and presentation on Syd Mead...check him out!
