    silentinjections: Thanks man!

Tigermilk: Hey man, thanks for the comment! I agree with what you and a few others have said already. i feel like im on the brink of getting this stuff nailed, but i simply cant get over whatever artistic hurdle im facing... but with that said, i know that with time i'll get there. It'd be awesome if i had an extra 5 hours in my day to fit in some more drawin, i absolutely would crank out more finished pieces. but unfortunately, most of my time is booked up solid, in between my full time job, exercising (p90x!), eating and sleeping, that little bit of down time i get is usually spent hanging out with my GF, and/or house work.

i hate to use this as an "excuse" but Im still dealing with paper work and legal stuff in regards to my deceased parents. which isnt remedied in one afternoon on the weekend, takes months and months and meetings upon meetings, and letters getting lost, and more meetings, and signatures from people in other Providences, etc etc... These may sound like excuses to some, but its all relative to my life. Im doing what i can with out losing my mind. my sketches will progress, slowly at this rate, but its better than not drawing at all i think.

anyways sorry to blow all this hot air at you Tigermilk, its just ive been wanting to say this stuff for awhile.

i do appreciate the visit tho

Metal Fingers: thanks man, ill be honest, its rough, lots of stuff to deal with, gotta figure out how to sell some stuff, cars, and a house... stressfull stuff, im a newb at it. but my chins up! thanks for stoppin by!

Heres another one, inspired by those new(ish) marko djurdjevic spidey peices.

kischi: yeah its a headach, but ill get through it all eventually.

Metal Fingers: hey man, thanks for stoppin by and also thanks for the kind words !

    enthombed: thanks friend!

NickyBeats: thanks ! hmm, im finding it a 50/50 with people liking this spiderman suit, its not my design, its marko djurdjevics, but i like it alot, enough to draw it obviously!

been pretty busy and stressed out for the last few weeks from mostly work. things are finally slowing down now ....

Ive gotta say though, im thinkin i need to move on, work wise. i need to do something before im stuck in a rut.

Heres whats on my mind, if anyone has any experience on this then please, do share!

Im thinkin of taking a year off to work on my portfolio. I really cant afford to go to school, but yet i want to get some finalized pieces in my portfolio, enough to get me a gig at a decent studio in some bigger city. The only way I can see myself getting more finalized pieces in my portfolio is to stop working and use my 9-5 working on my own stuff.

Like i said i dont have money to spend on schooling, but i do have some saved up from the last couple years. If i budget it out, and cancel some luxuries i dont really need, i could probably last a good 8 months, maybe more if i find myself some freelance somehow.

anyways, i really need to make a change. something needs to happen or im gonna lose it. and i think this might be it. i dont want to be irrational about it, i know what im potentially getting myself into if i were to do this, theres risks, im aware, but at the same time, i see the benefit, a leap of faith, i know, but man, i really need to do something. i think this is all i have for options here.

what do you guys think? should i suck it up, and settle for what i have already and rely on luck and fate to give me something new? or should i take a chance, and try and better myself on my own and then go after what i want head on?

    ..heh.. thats all.

anyways, like i said, been busy, this is all i have for sketches...

A very nice SB - and I have to say I really like how you do the torso and bulk of the body - theigh and upper arms.
That's not to remove from the rest, as you do characters well , but somehow these stand out from most.

It's kind of strange actually - never experienced that someone does one part so well that it always stands out in piece after piece, and here that the heart area of the characters are just so perfect

    SB. p31 updated 25.04.2012.

Man I think that if it's your dream and if you have the chance to take a break and work on your portfolio, you should try it!
It would be a pitty for you to ask your self the rest of your life the "what if I?" question.
So my advice, give a try, at least you won't have any remorse after that

    Good luck man !

Hey bro, I'm gonna say you should go for it. I was reading your last few posts, and I support the idea of taking off work and improving the portfolio. Getting stuck in ruts are the worst, and it just keeps getting more difficult to make changes the longer you wait. As long as you know that you won't slack, and you will take things seriously for 8 months straight, I feel like things will work out great in the end. You shouldn't have much of a problem landing small freelance stuff even now, which will help out a bit. Go for it man, good luck.

dan liimatta: thanks dan! im a fan of your stuff to dude! id say the reason for certain areas of my sketches being more "polished" than other parts is cus thats probably where i spent more time workin simply cus i had a limited amount of time to draw what i wanted, and usually i render the things i enjoy rendering the most.... bad habbit, but i plan on changin that real soon.

Brandon Pilcher: thanks man, is Marko Djurdjevics design, but i like it too.

enthombed: thanks! you just practice. its what im doin here.

Mark Tarrisse: thanks for the support dude, been thinkin about it for a long time. and i did it im gonna fuckin do it!

Jasper_ : agreed, what you said was absolutely right. and like i just said to Mark, im going through with it. its happening, and im pretty happy about it!

I dont know how many of you guys actually read these posts of mine, but like i just said to Mark and Jasper, ive made a pretty big change in my life.

After thinking about it for a few months now, and hearing positive feed back from people in my personal life and people on forums like CA, and listening to my gut feeling, ive finally pulled trigger on something that will potentially get me to where i want to be.

I quit my 9 to 5 job of 4 years so that i could work on my portfolio full time.

My last day is this friday, and after that, its ball bustin time. im pretty happy about it all and i cant wait for this time next week when im sittin at home and able to finally draw the stuff i need to get better.

if all goes well, by the end of my year off stint, ill have the guns to get some decent freelance or a job in a triple 'A' game studio. or maybe ill find some work as im going. anyways, thats what im hoppin.

so thats pretty awesome right? i think its what i need to do to actually get better at this shit. im tired of not having the time to do what i really want to do. so heres me grabbin life by the balls and takin control.

heres what ive been noodling on today.

Nice, man! Good to hear you are taking the leap, godspeed on your quest!
Critique wise I would like to see some more costume/armor ideas on your characters. Most of them is pretty much naked with great rendered muscles etc. I'm guessing this is somewhat of a comfort zone for you.
Anyway keep up the great work, man!

Man! what an awesome sketch book! Loving to see your evolution. Still, I like the value pieces the most, no color needed if you ask me. You have such a good grasp of form and anatomy.

the high saturation in both the wolf man and the BG are a bit distracting, but the rendering is looking nice man!

    ian_ruff : thanks man!

Metal Fingers: yeah, im fighting with saturation again. my monitor that im using to paint on is a HDTV, not ideal for photoshop stuff. somethin to do with gamma levels in tvs compared to monitors... anyways, is all i can manage right now till i get some spendin money from freelance or sellin ma body. as for now, ill just have to tweak things down once and awhile.

still tweakin around, sorry for spammin the board.
