Recent works Update 15/03 + Brush

Hi everyone ! Im not dead , im now at eidos montreal working on thief 4 and i am also working on different personal projects as :
A serie of robots i did
The goal here was to create robots with almost only angular shapes , and to have fun
3D meshes done in 3ds max and paintover with photoshop.
I also try to work if each picture was a cover for a model ship box.

and i also worked on a teamchallenge : the unearthly challenge
i teamed with vincent joyal , i did the concept and he worked on the 3d
the topic was end game and the rules a bit hardcore : no characters allowed and Your environment MUST either be shown within a video game engine, or as a screen grab from a 3D creation applicaiton.

    So heres the concept

    and the steps

    - some book cover
    the sketches

    and the finale picture

and heres a bunch of speed paintings for the fun (trying techniques and playing with colors )

    Peace

nice work..I like that these are personal projects,I find it hard to keep myself motivated outside of work related tasks...I keep sketch books but haven't had much luck getting my personal projects finished.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

Really like the WoodWitch one. I know it's totally different to all your other stuff, but the ghost-like quality of the piece really creates a great mood for me.

These pieces are really well done, the unearthly challenge from concept to in game engine screen shot was really impressive. Keep up the great stuff!

those robot designs are tight. Really great to see some new work from you as well! I wonder what your 3D stuff would look like if you painted over it in a more gestural manner, using the style from your speedpaints? I love the clean look you have, but it might be a fun experiment to work in that kind of texture. Anyways - great stuff!

Great stuff Viag. I really like the game engine concept scene... it looks like something out of Mass Effect. Great job!
