Cataloguing Artwork - What software to use?

Was wondering whether anybody knew of any software that was good for cataloguing images? For example, I like to save reference images to my hard drive, but its sometimes hard to find what I want months later.

Ideally, i'd like something that previews all images in a folder, and allows you to assign keyword descriptions to them. At the moment, i've just started using ACDSee which seems pretty good, but anyone use anything else that they find effective?

    Hi Dave,

as ACDsee is "just" a viewer we´re using for our archives Extensis Portfolio. It´s - as a single user license - comparatively cheap (at least towards Cumulus) and quite powerful. It´s got database functions, so you can add Keywords to every picture and ahs advanced search functions.

    Hope this could help you

ACDSee is the best, last I checked. But the new Photoshop (or PS Elements) has a database function, batch rename, image info (very extensive) all that stuff. It even has a search engine for images only!

Photoshop is kinda expensive though... x:
