SWEET STUDIES your energy and motivation is inspiring and there's great improvement since your first post, you're definitely going in the right direction think i'll take take your example and do some real work as well
@miycko Aww thank you so much!~ ^__^
I'm hoping I can pick my pace back up again XD But I'm happy to hear that it motivated you to do more too
[seems my attachments didn't work DX, Guess I had plans to remove one of them anyways ^^]

Kind of late at updating DX
I think after today I'll be able to update everyday again [been kind of getting busy with a bunch of stuff and yeah]
More Loomis studies [most done on Feb 4th ^^]
And more Gesture stuff [I think one day I used pose maniacs, but the rest were from real pics as fast as I could, weren't really timed]
And just for fun stuff ^^
Pretty much everything is from yesterday except for half a page which was form the day before yesterday ^__^
Usually I just start drawing at night when everyone else is asleep [I'd for sure get in truble for drawing this stuff and I know my parents wouldn't understand] But yesterday felt safe to work on them all day [but I did things inbetween, and had to help with stuff several times, so yeah ^^]
Just more observations from Loomis's book, I should problbly go and work on skecthing other things besides just this XD
A page of random observation stuff from 2 days ago
Me trying to paint a citysape yesterday XD
Was trying to go for outlineless but the colored parts looked odd without the lines ^^;;
Took me 45 minutes just to do this, I feel so slow DX
More stuff from Loomis's book [I really hate working with pen, I really do... I problbly need a ball point pen DX]
And this si random observations from stuff either around me or from photos ^^
Excuse the bad photo qaulity DX
Hey, looked a little lonely in here, so I decided to drop by. This is some nice stuff, keep doing those studies. One thing I think you should work on is controlling your pencil. When you're doing those Loomis studies or other pencil stuff, don't just scribble in the shadows. The direction of your pencil strokes can be very effective in describing the form of something.
This is some great stuff and very inspiring! Never stop!
I hate eplying with nothing more too add XD
But my camera's batteries ran out, and I can't find my charger DX
But I hav been drawng a lot [imo] XD So next update will problbly be big XD
aww thanks for stopping by, and thank you for the comments~
Yeah I guess I do need to work on that a bit more XD [just hard for me to get my pencil to get to soft tip stage, but I think as of today I've gotten better at it :3] But I'll definently work harder on doing that, thanks
Thanks a lot!~
I actually sometimes feel like stopping, but if I stop then I'd definently never get better XD So I couldn't stop if I wanted to XD
yay! Thank you, I;m gald to hear it XD
I would try a hand at painting, only I don't have the supplies for it, and have no way of obtainging any as of now, but maybe in the furture I can! [well guess I could use Sai aka my "photoshop program"]
So this time I tried my hardest to pay attention to how I'm shading more, So hopefully the shading comes across better :3
And some more Loomis Stuff :3
And random observation [I really like how the hugging salt shakers turned out]
I decided to start using the .pdf of the book "The Natural Way to Draw"
I haven't really done his Blind Contour exercises the right way... I mean they take me 8-10 minutes approx. [which is pretty long to me] and supposively they're suppose to last 30 minutes. I dunno how bad that is XD;
Next time I'll give painting still life a shot on my computer ^__^
Okay so my camera's not working, so I guess I need a new one DX [I guess I shuld have a scanner, but I don't have the room]
But I dunno when I can get a new [I have the money to pay for one, but... I don't have access to outside my house most the time, so it depends on my mom telling my dad to get me one...]
But anyways! I'll try to fit more digital painting stuff [I'm still gonna do drawing studies by hand vs. tablet ^^]
I did this orange [was actually a whole picture of oranges, but I only had time for one]
I guessed on the shadows on the ground, for it being by itself... problbly should have looked up reference pictures on that.
Stuff from the past several days ^__^
My camera will work if I use the view finder [pain to use that thing though, cuz' its not as acurate as the LCD screen]
The Natural Way to draw
Observations from photo's ^__^
Stuff from some animation book online, and stuff from observing an animes screenshots [think I'm gonna pick some animted series, and observe from it for a month, then switch after a month.] These are put on last priority compared to everything else.
Just pretty much same pattern ^^
Didn't do much on paper stuff yesterday so I didn't bother gettng a picture.
Painted this pineapple though, man I wish i didn't pick a pineapple XD
that pattern thing confused me so much, still did it wrong, but at least I finally got to a version where I could do a pattern XD
In the process~
Did this an animation a few days ago, based off observing this: http://mjranum-stock.deviantart.com/...Cuts-155639949
But yeah kind of sketchy since I didn't wanna bother with doing a smoother line version ^^
Random Observation stuff
And I started on Burne's book "Dynamic Figure Drawing" Dunno which version, first pdf I download was in russian, and then I downloaded different one that was in english, but it was a different book XDDD
The Natural Way to draw book stuffz ^^
More Burne's stuff :3
Observation of more profiles ^__^
And the natural way to draw
Items and anouther portrait, but not finished yet
The Natural way to draw stuff
March 14th [did have soem on paper stuff but just getures ^^]
This morning ^__^
Tried to do a digital colored version of one of my profile sketches ^^
[I used my drawing as the original reference, and then looked towards the original to fix up errors]
Photo Reference [was black and white, so I had to look at other peoples photos for a general skintone ^^]: http://www.cleber.com.br/yanomamis/grandes/a39.jpg

mor studies ^^
Sweeeeet your hanging in there! The paintings are looking good, I suggest doing more of them On the last one the values are farily good but I would suggest pushing the lights even more. Still don't see any painted still lifes though! You got Sai right?
Don't be afraid of drawing frorm your head more as well. When I was frist began to draw I thought if I draw more from observation ill be able to draw form my head! That's not quite true, you need to draw from your head to be good at drawing from your head hah.
Animations looking neat, I've done some of that stuff, I want to make films when I'm ready hah. For now just working on my drawing and painting skills. Above all else I want to be able to paint very nice backgrounds...
One last thing I suggest is spending alot of time on one study or drawing. I learned alot when I started spending my time makeing sure everything was right.
Keep it comeing
I got more stuff I did on paper, but I was too lazy to take pictures of it XD;;;@Dy.laneA Yess hanging in there, but at times it feels like barely!~ [but sometimes its hard to stop, so at least thats good]
Maybe I sha'll work on making that better sometime next montht then
Aww so the fruit arn't still lifes? Okay okay I'll pick something off my desk next time.
I'll be sure to inccorperate that more then [well I usually draw anime from head, but I'll practie with realism more ^^]
Yeah I myself might think about going into animation, I'm still not sureee sure yet, but I'm thinking on it still
I'll try to start doing that more often then! :3
Thanks a bunch for all the suggestions, and I definently will be!
@vatteh Yeah pose manias an be so bothersome at first DX But now I think I'm finally pulling off 20-30secounders
[and took a break for 2 days, though secound day was not intentional got pretty busy DX]
So here...is my attempt of realism painting from mind since you suggested it. Ahaha all I can say is it does not look very real at the moment
I'm guessing its either the eyes or nose or both that look wrong.
Maybe just all of it is! [and I've never really drawn and clothes with a serious attitude, so I'm sure the clothes need work]
And something about his cheek, I must be shading it wrong
Harhar, sorry not much of an update, I have been drawing on paper I just don't feel like taking pictures, but should do that soon X3
So here's an attemted still life of my speaker X3
Good for a first try? XD
For these I would drawing the picture from the book on paper, while using it as refernece the whole time, then I went on my computer, took a look at he picture for like 5-8 secounds and then try to do it from memory without cheating an looking ^^ [hey I guess its a start for practicing from memory X3]
Wow its been awhile since I updated [sorry its been awhile, ust been to azy to take photos, I have been drawing everyday still at least, but gahhh not as much as I should be XD]
So these are from March 26th-april 2nd I believe ^^
Im gonna update this in a bit, with digital, just wanted to seperate the digital from the paper stuff ^^]
For the front profile, I tried to take my time with it, more then I'm use to.
More burne and Loomis stuff
For this I thought of a pose writting down what it did, draw it, then, I'd go in the mirror make the pose and redraw it [but my mirror isn't next to my desk, so I'd have to recall what I sa win the mirror XD But it is still in my room]
I'm gonna start trying to do something like this everyday, draw something from refrence, right after draw it from memory, then don't look at the image and try to redraw it sometime during the next day, until i can get use to it with none.
Man you're dedicated! Nice posemaniac sketches too, there's schwung in them and that's a good thing to have.
About that digi portrait:the main problem lies in the eyes, which aren't on the same plane as the nose and mouth. Her haircut's on the lopsided side as well. But it's not like you couldn't fix that, right?
@walnut I don't feel as deicated ads I feel I need to be, but hey more-so then I ever have been in the past years X3
Thanks, glad to hear that! XD
And when I get back to tha drawiing I'll be sure to fix that [though might be awhile as I have trouble going back to a drawing when I stop working on it after a day for some reason X3]
[my computer was having troube uploading things for awhile, in general to anywhere, so this took awhile to get to XD]
Everything except for the portraits are from April 9th-April 13th ^^
I feel like I got better at portraits then I have been doing [then again I was being more rushy with those ones, while I've recently been working harder at taking my time X3]
Then I also started to incoorperate some watered down acrylics [well closet thing to watercolors I could use]
Last edited by OfflineOnline; April 21st, 2010 at 04:12 AM.
Most stuff is from April 18-22nd
I need to pick up the pace again [though I think I have been at least doing an hour on most days, just doesn't feel like it, though actually have been doing some more anime related things that are colored, but I don't think I'll bother posting those for now ^^]
I hope to get back to updating once a day ^^
Gesture drawings [plus memory of a place gestures]
Then more Arms STuff plus pose stuff
[guess the Poses are basically gesture but with more time put into them, most 2 minutes, But I'll draw them at one angle, then I try to draw what I think they'd look like at a different angle in the same pose, then rotate the image and draw the corect version of the pose rotated ^^]
Water color Gesture
Portriats from the 23rd and from Yesterday ^^
Apple Juice I painted yesterday, I didn't get to finish this..... because I think it tells you it needs refridgeration, and this had been sitting out for two hours so... I was just being cautious.
[rest of this stuff is mostly from between the 23rd and 26th ^^]
Poses from my mind :3
Pose Maniacs stuff
And mostly stuff from
