Wanting to become better.
NEWEST STUFF ON LAST PAGE
Not exactly new anymore!~
But just wanna leave my old descript for when I first joined XD
If you have any recommendations of books/things/methods/etc... feel free to tell me!
Hey everyone my names Tina and I'm new to this site ^^;
I was browsing the Deviantart forums, and I was reading this one article that got me to think, I should start practicing a lot more then I have been ^^ (currently I draw like every few days, only when I really feel like it)
So now I'm trying to go about drawing at least an hour a day XD
I'm not use to it, but I've been starting with posemaniacs (Had trouble with it in the past, 90secounds was too fast, but its not anymore ^^)
Even after years of drawing I'm still a beginner pretty much, so now I'm trying to stop being lazy XD And to also try to make myself draw things other the just anime.
People tell me I have potential, so I guess I do? XD
But yeah drawing/art is something that would oroblbly be the best career path for me if I could actually go somewhere with it ^^
I think I'll just use this to post whenever, I'll try to update daily with my "progress" if I rember. ^__^
If you have any suggestions on how to improve feel free to shoot them at me ^__^

So here's the first stuff i'm gonna upload ^^
Last night I was gonna get started with pose maniacs, but the idiotic power went out, due to too much wind D:
So I decided to pic somthing to draw by flash light, and this soda bottle happen to be in front of the flash light when I turned it on ^^
I tried to be as accurate as possible, but all the fancy little reflections, got so confusing XD
First thng on this sketch is the 3 person over ^^
I was watching an asian dramma, and decided to try to draw this one guy
Everything else was random.
And then decided I should attempt drawing backgrounds, especially with perspective
And here's my first at posemaniacs (well since several months ago)
I'm keeping up with the 90secound speed well enough I suppose, but not completely.
Yeah they all look horrible XD
I'll problbly do like 8-10 poses every hour or two or something to get better at it.

Here's some tips:
1. Study how light works and that will help with your shading.
2. Practice with 3d objects, perspective, etc.
3. Try looking up some books on figure drawing.
Nice bottle study by the way.

Yesterday I was sick so I couldn't draw anything >__< (spent 8 hours of fun in the bathroom! After the 8 hours I was fine, but its best for me to stay away from working on much after that)
So this is stuff from the day before yesterday ^___^
The Camera I use to take pictures of my drawings XD
I'm gonna aim to draw one objext in my room per day XDD
It was more rushed then thec coke bottle, so I guess it might appear that way.
It looks to triangulary, so I think the main error is one of the longer lines is messed up
I cant help but feel like this is a waste of paper XD But I don't wanna use my tablet
Not really great, but looks better then my first runthrough XD

I haven't really been drawing the past few days, but yesterday I got to doing some stuff ^___^
I saved a whole bunch of pictures on my pc from DA for drawing references, and so the guy in the top corner was from that.
Then I went looking up how to study anatomy to draw it, and I'm still looking for a better resource, but I came across this muscle picture on one site. (skeleton from other site)
And then decided to draw from two more reference pictures.
More referenced pictures from yesterday.
The 2 little block things are fabric, it doesn't really look like it XD
90 secound Pose Maniacs (from the 19th)
60 secound Pose Maniacs (from the 19th)
November 25th, 2009 #9
So yesterday I was looking up anatomy resources and I came across this one site with an ebook. So yeah I decided to copy just about everything in the book.
I know I should problbly start doing things from my own mind XD;
I drew so many hands, yestderday was like hand drawing day, it felt so repetative but not at the same time XDDD
Sorry it looks so cluttered in these pictures [in person it seems less so] but I wanted to avoid new pieces of paper XD
For now I'm switching to lined paper, cuz' I want to avoid wasting printer paper, and lined paper isn't used at all anymore XD
And then some 60 secound pose maniacs

HEY MAN KEEP IT UP
if you keep working like that you'll be awesome in no time
try some more bold, consistent line, rather than scratchy, petted stuff; practice doing these kinds of flowing, bold strokes on a scrap paper, just feeling loose and learning to make them look as you want them to you'll see a tremendous improvement in freedom if you master bold line!

Nice start, hands are looking good. Starting to get back into posemaniacs myself.
For anatomy, drawing from reference pictures like it seems you have done is good. Remember that if you want to be able to draw straight from your imagination realistically, then you have to have data stored in your head already. This will come from lots and lots of life drawing and drawing from references (or so they tell me). You can still draw from your imagination, but you should draw from reference or life a ton.
You seem to be starting fine. A few good books have been written on anatomy and how to draw it by George Bridgeman and/or Andrew Loomis. There is also a real nice anatomy book by Peck.
Keep drawing away.

Yeah, just keep drawing and drawing. Good idea to start with full pages of anatomy drawings. I would later try to concentrate on a finalized rendered drawing (5-10 hour drawing) just to see where you're at and what you have improved on. Then go back to the studies and practice the areas that you need to improve the most.
