I can't tell if I'm progressing or not. I figured this is the place to get a bit more serious. Help me out guys. Critique and all that jazz. I want it all. I've got quite a bit of respect for this community, as everyone gives useful advice and there are some very awesome artists that are extremely inspiring in every way.
I think this is the best place to start (with a sketchbook right?) and I'll work my way around. And I'll post my latest "finished" works. I don't get around to doing sketches as I would like too. Another thing I would also like to introduce myself to is sketching/drawing/painting things I normally wouldn't do on my own as well as from life.
Basically, I'm trying to break old bad habits and adapt some new good ones. Guide me in my endeavours.
P.S. This sketchbook is actually old now, and thinking of starting a new one....
P.P.S: I contemplated deleting the original post or editing it as it all seems very childish but it's whatever. It's kind of funny to look at how much of a fool I was.

I'm new too, and its pretty intimidating posting next to some of the amazing people who frequent this site. If you stick with it and listen to the advice they give though I can almost guarantee you will progress.
Be sure to check out the tutorials/tips section cause theres a lot to learn, also there is a stickied post with links to 100+ free online reference books (bridgman, loomis, etc).
I like your lines a lot and they have a great style, one critique I have though is on the colored piece. The strands of hair stand out as all being the same thickness so you might want to look into varying your line weight a bit with the brush settings. It'll make the lines/colors more dynamic lifelike.
Frittzell : I try hard to stick with a more realistic sense of anatomy, but I think I could do better if I used some references. I've really only ever drawn from my imagination and basically what I see in the mirror from time to time. And being long/lanky makes me end up drawing everyone else with the same body as mine :p Will try more references and different bodies!
Maunty: Thanks a million for the links! It probably would have taken me a long time to come across these myself. I'll be sure to go through as much of it as I can.And thats a good point about the hair. I did want to give it a sort of manky/matted look but, probably didnt acheive that well enough. Doesn't help that I only ever draw with the default brush. For the background I used one of the calligraphy brushes for the first time :s
Krispy: Lulz jonnei boy you're too sweet to me < 3
Anabanana: Thanks! I'll try.
By starting with some more of these.
The first one is a character of mine who becomes a killer D:
The second one I did for the lulz.
The last two are pretty old, but I still kinda like em so I thought I'd share. Will bring some to the table later < 3! And hopefully some actual new stuff soon as well.
A few other things I was kinda happy with. Sorry for the lack of updates, had a crazy holiday visitng family back in U.S.A. Starting to feel homesick again :c
So this is the full thing of Jesus' head that I drew like, 4 in the morning the day before I left. And some other stuff I did while I was there (did the last one while I was on the plane to the way there actually). I wish I had an awesome camera and scanner, cause then I would feel like a right pimp.
Plan on going to the library tomorrow to maybe find some awesome anatomy and reference books and all that. Also going to see the princess frog c:
Great sketches. The third one in the first post reminds me of Lady Gaga hehe. Nice pencil work and stylish proportions, looks very fashion illustrationy, but you made it your own.
I'd like to see more color stuff too. Keep posting!
No colour stuff this time, just some stuff I'm quite happy with at the moment.
It was weird cause I was going to give up on that picture (obvious anatomy problems), but I got this weird email from some stranger, and that made me want to finish it. At least, for them. I'm quite happy with it.
I also drew a space marine. The most effeminate one you'll ever see c:
A work in progress...I was hoping to colour this one, but I got this really awesome pimp that wants to do a collab with me. SOOOoooo excited Cx... I'll at least finish the line work. I like his outfit c:
Was at the in-laws the other day, and Tom's sister wanted me to draw a toast stealing monster :/
Greedy children turn into these things.
I also finished my space marine... didn't want to clean it up that much really. Was fun drawing it though. Hes sooooo adorable. I think his suit might be babyblue or pink...or something nice c:
I drew some more stuff recently that i thought was worthy of posting ..i think...
I've been listening to loads and loads of David Axelrod recently, mainly "The Sick Rose" and came up with this.
I loooove Davd Axe sooo much. Anyway. Thats Christopher. Hes quite confused, but takes it in stride. We sell Prom dresses where I work, and I've been wanting to draw him in one for ages.
I also drew this recently, which looks silly.
I drew his head before i even though about the body so..that says everything really. I don't normally do that, but...i was being lazy :c. Jesus is so silly and angry... Anyway. I have been drawing, but not as much as i love to, and nothing I'm really happy with. so those things wont show their faces.
You're a very good pencil, i like your style Man!!!
Only a comment on the last image, the boots aren't good their wrong in some way... you've also reversed the foot .
I stay tuned on your post
Goooood work !!
So I've been gone for ages and ages because of work , course things and what not and studying taking up alot of time. So I got around to finishing some sketching on the side.
I wish I was a bit more active up here, like saying things to people and what not but I always don't know what to say. I always feel like I can't really comment and tell people what is best for them or how they should do things as I'm still learning alot myself. I don't like giving advice I guess without personally being asked for it ( though I don't mind reciving any from random people at random times ).
Anyway, Heres another spacemarine type thing. I was bored and looking at the blood angels. I got some sanguinary guards I have to paint sometime. It looks a bit silly, but I think its mad cute.
From a story I was working on. Going really slow, but I like doing pictures of it from time to time. Havn''t done one in a long time so just came up with this.
Sketch of jesus falling the wrong way with his doggie that i'll prob never finish
I also got one of those molskine sketchbooks to see if they were really as good as people made them out to be. They're not half bad after all.
By the way, anyone know of any really good anatomy books? I tried hitting up the library for some, but nothing worth while really. Would also be better to buy, so I always have something for reference in the house.
ahahaa .... ; _;
So, I've been trying really hard to get better. And doing lots of sketches and things ( of which i havnt bothered to scan yet) but, some stuff I've done that I'm not too scared to show....
And some running zebras and things...
And these two Leyendecker study things I did in Tegaki! I'm totally obssessed with it. I can't paint for the life of me, I always paint everything too pale. So i started practicing on here, and the limitations make me work differently I suppose. So I'm a bit pleased with it (more the second one than the first)...
I love your style, it is really nice and dynamic. I think that some of your people might be on the puny side, but that makes sense and meshes well with your style..
Keep up the good work, i'll keep watching! Thanks!
unbelievable line drawing, i love them , good sketch book my friend , keep drawing .
On And On , I Am Cursed To Live Cursed With Life Until I Have Done What Done What Must Be Done . . . I Am The Man Who Would Not Die .

I love your stuff. It's got little qualities I find so attractive.
Great use of nouveau. Whether it's conscious or not.
I should really do more pieces rather than studies.
I sorta feel like there's an inherit stiffness with your stuff though. Like there's a bit of life the pieces are missing out on. I don't know though. I'm not a great. But maybe more 30 second gestures would be a good supplement for you.
I'd love to see more stuff with motion in the future.

Truer words have never been spoken.
Alot of my people are just standing around and shit. I was thinking about this the other day. Should do more fun action pose stuff. And women, I hardly draw women myself... bad bad me :c
@greyskill : Ughgg I know I draw puny men all the time ; -;. It's a curse.Should practice some beefy men.
A couple things from a few weeks ago, forgot all about them.
And my Arrow collar ninja
He fights crimes against fashion, you see. My husband said he could fight himself all day long :c I told him that he couldn't wear something someone else would want to wear, because thats his ultimate weakness - Appearing in the same outfit as someone else.
He even has a sword in his cane, which has a yard long ruler etched into it, incase he has to talor something on the spot, you see.
I wonder what kind of enimies he would have... Hipsters with razor sharp fadoras I imagine. They would throw their hats at him like Odd Job maybe...
haha, well you draw what you draw.
But monotonous subject matter shows signs of boredom and loss of creativity.
It's not a bad reflection of you, more of a sign for concern.
Switching things up is a good thing. So gestures and studies should give you good ideas for more dynamic poses, if that's what you're aiming for. Even if it's not. I almost always recommend doing so. Even if just to add to your drawing count.
^_^ I'd love to see one or 2 more with color. The ones you have up are really pretty.
A bit of eye candy a day will keep the creativity succubus away.
@BlackheartK: Yeah I know what you mean. I think part of it is because I always come up with some story or another, and want to finish it, so I end up drawing alot of the same characters in similar situations. Should start just doing random studies or random whatevers probably. And I -hardly- ever paint because I always thought I was terrible at it and just got fustrated. its only recently I started picking up on painting again...
@OmertA: Thanks, encouragement is always A+ c:
I was painting on tegaki again... I could try and paint his face forever but its always changing in my mind...he has a nice boyish charm, but hes a total creeper on the real...
