    Day two of painting this thing. Not very much left to go. Want to get this finished within the week. Don't want to over polish it like I usually do either.One day I'll be good at painting or something like that

    Hey Lostcookie, I love your work especially your drawings--they have such an intensity and the anatomy is really well balanced in its stylisation. I guess I just have a soft spot for sketchy androgynous youths! I swung by your livestream today or yesterday, but I only watched... silently... creepily. Just kidding, great work, keep it up!

    I don't know if this is a duplicate, CA is giving me a very hard time trying to post this comment!

    You have a really great eye for color! I really enjoy your paintings, especially how nuanced the varying hues are in the rendering.

    @NeonPoweredFirefly: Thanks! And if you ever stop by in a livestream always feel free to say hello or whatever you like! It's always lovely chatting with visitors so, if you stop by again just holla. And yeah, my soft spot of androgynous blokes is eternal ;w;

    @Inkthyosaur: Thanks yo. And yeah you would think that, but the model for the game, the bayonet is actually atop the gun (sort of like the rifle in the Liberty Leading the People by Eugne Delacroix). The gun is strikingly similar to that one, and I think many European rifles were similarly composed. So the later gun models for this particular character in the game are based roughly on that (it may be because the character is supposed to be a German immigrant shipped over for the soul purpose to suppress the building revolution in America o _o). That is my guess as to why the gun is shaped this way anyway.

    @Yemi775: Thank you ;u; I'll try to keep the ball rolling.

    @Eckihm: Thank you! I usually feel my colours are my weakest point but I'm trying to improve. Really I think I should do more studies and things to get some better colour combinations within a single picture. I keep trying to work so much on contrast and values that actual colour composition seems almost like an after thought. No good! Thanks again ;u;

    So it seems like its been all over the place around here with all the moving and everything. And the double/triple/quadruple posts are pretty amusing, but thanks to all of those who wanted to say something so much so they tried to post it more than once ;u; I'll try and be a bit better at getting back to others and their sketch books as well.

    And being that I've quit my job and have been drawing loads (and combined with ca being down) I've got more than one picture to share O:

    So I finished this painting thing here, a commission.

    Very fun to draw/paint ouo This other one was a commission as well to couple with the one in the gold frame.

    It was a bit difficult to try and do something similar but not too much the same without getting too bored with it, since I had done the same composition before. But they were happy so!

    some Moleskine sketch commissions

    And a bunch of head shot things. I havnt done digital line work properly for some years now and..well I wanted to bost my confidence a bit so

    Nothing super special. I grabbed some characters from some friends and just did these. About and hour and a half to 2 hours each on them. Need to work more on my timing. Oh and I was doing this other digital thing but, don't know if I'll have time to finish it cause still have commissions to do and I'm really slow

    ... I think that's everything. Back to work and all that. I typically stay way more active on tumblr more than anywhere else currently, but I'll try coming back and updating more often here again. Now that I'm just drawing everyday and neglecting life ouo. *ollie out*

    Not much going on but though I'd share my current commission :

    I'm not really fond of the big daddy design but I think I'll manage...somehow. I think it's going alright. Lots of art-deco type patterns to incorporate..just a lot of work left in generally actually but I shall finish it soon.

    oh and these guys I made

    Barly and Miguel. They are patrol cops who like to waste time on the tax payers dollar. I'll be doing a short comic with them soon as I finish up my commissions!

    So tired...time for me to hit the sack.

    Bigdaddy commission is having some nice subtltety in it's colors...

    Have you ever tried out using some "dirtier" colors for the painting process? Maybe that will lead you to render in a less "tidy" way if you wish to do it.
    Personally I love the colorful style you have, sometimes with large flat color plains(the mucha ref), and the tidy style that goes with it!

    @Lakka: Hmm , I'm not sure what you mean by "dirtier colours" but I do think I need an overhaul on my pallets. I think they're just getting too gaudy in general. I think I also need to get a bit more comfortable using a larger range of brushes. And thanks for the comment!

    @JTBurby:Thank you so much! I hope I don't dissapoint.

    Mostly commissions except the last thing , which is the new way I'm doing my comic now. But because of commissions I've had 0 time to do any personal work, and it's grating a bit (especialy with tom trying to give me stricter time constraints).

    I'm just all :I about my work recently. Art is hard. I want to have some time experimenting and studying but...just don't have the time now, so I feel kind of stuck...

    @Naidy: Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad you feel that way. Lets just see if I can keep it up!

    So I've been busy. Here is some stuff :

    I want to practice doing some more sci-fi stuff, so I started doing a few sketches. About 30 mins per robot.

    some shoes studies because I'm really shit at drawing shoes. 1 minute per shoe.

    Name:  Robo2FCA2.png

    Painted one of the robos, took about 9 hours to paint? I can't really remember now.

    made a little gif.

    sketch commission. And also I played all of Metal Gear Rising in the span of one day. All I have to say is damn. There are some -sweet- asses up in that shit.

    Name:  RaidenLedits2.jpg
Views: 529

    I hardly fan art, but, I just enjoyed the game that much. Done in about 4/5 hours.

    You know I always say I will update more often but then I don't really.. Can't wait to be done with commissions. Getting bored drawing people sitting around and all that. I want to experiment more but...cant really risk it on commission work I think. Anyway I think I might start painting the Raiden picture soon. Might livestream it.

    Just a few things

    Painting I've finished (within a day. This is a huge milestone for me ;u. I'm actually considering doing a few others with a running theme. Which would be nice if I can finish them within the same time span.

    Name:  Desert Faun COL Fs.jpg
Views: 484
Size:  474.9 KB

    This actually started out as a moleskine sketch commission but. I just wanted to flesh it out a bit more.

    Wip of the Raiden painting. I've been on and off with this one.

    Name:  RaidenWIP1s.jpg

    Some robo line work. Both done within 3 or so hours. Trying to shave more time. Need better designs still.

    Name:  Robo-Strut.png
Views: 475
Size:  213.8 KB

    Name:  catnurse.png
Views: 479
Size:  206.2 KB

    And some other sketches that I did. 5 minutes per animal head thing, and about 2 minute per blob exercise, which was incredibly fun.

    Name:  blobs1.jpg

    need to do more quick sketches. Seems pretty handy having a skech book I don't really care for, as I tend to just draw whatever comes to mind in it, rather than worrying everything needs to look good. Back to work on stuff...

    Ah! These sketches are superb! My one critique would be that many of your male characters have very feminine features. Maybe try working on making the men look more like men... Unless of course that is what you are going for.

    Please keep updating. Very inspiring!

    @Uiriamu: !

    @schwarzmaler: Thank you!

    @Kadin.T.Goldberg: Yeah I would say this is a fair critique, but yes , I do prefer very androgynous males. It's just what I like, so I suppose it's what I'll continue to do. Besides, everyone else already paints manly men. So there's definitely no shortage haha. Thank you though!

    @kidult: Thank you very much!

I guess if I did update more regularly, it wouldn't take quite as long haha. Anyway. I need to go hunt for my brain somewhere. Have a happy new year!

    Wow, this stuff is awesome. Love how luminous those speed paintings are. The linework has a nice character too. I wonder how it would look with more sweeping strokes. Great stuff overall. Keep it up!
