@in2eternity : Ouf, thanks! I always wonder like, the time expentency when working professionally. I'm always terrified about deadlines and things, though I probably only work slow because it's personal, and I don't really limit myself.... Might be worth trying to set deadlines on my personal work ...wonder how that would work out...

@surus : Thanks, need to do more sketches though. More studying. I'm so lazy :c

    @lolbbq : Dude, I'm honored.

This update is pretty meager again. I'm only now really starting to find more time for drawing. Still havn't made room for studying because i've been going on a drawing binge. I find that because I always though myself to be so fickle with my work in my younger years, once I start a drawing these days, I do everything I can to see it from begining to end. I need to learn how to leave some things as a sketch I think, and that not everything has to result in some finished product.

I've been having that feeling again. You know, when you look at everyone else's amazing work and just kind of. Mope. around.

I did do some dog studies of my brother's dog Ellie though.

She's crazy. Norwegian Black Elkhound. A powerhouse of sorts. But soooooo fun. My little runt dog doesnt like her very much when we use to live back in the states.

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

I did this in the laundrette (again) the other day. Cleo had a dream of Christopher. He think's this is the prettiest he's ever seen him.

Now, there's this old lady who works at the laundrette. She's a bit annoying cause she quite oftens really hovers around when im trying to draw. I don't want to be mean and tell her to go away because I know she's probably just genuienly curious as most people are. But I swear I start to break out in a frantic cold sweat when people are all lingering and shit.

I did this the other day just kind of as a stress reliver .

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

I've been wanting to draw Jesus again, but always and forever will be side tracked. Not enough time. I guess I like it, but as usual, when i draw something, I'm always happy with it while working on it, and shortly after. But dread it a few days later.

Regardless I started painting over it anyway. I havn't spent long on it but, its w/e.

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

Havn't worked on it very long but I'm having fun with it I guess, And I can already see a few things that need some serious patching up that I couldn't when it was monochromatic. Lots and lots of work to do yet.

    le sigh.

I hate those weird moments. Does anyone else ever get all mopey about their work? Doesn't it suck ass?I think I'll go draw something pornographic involving two men for valintines day.... another thing to get in the way of actual studying......

No more whimpy updates anymore. I promise. I swear....
I still get mad nervouse when I post on here

Your lines are really fun to look at they have a really nice dynamic quality.
Does anyone else ever get all mopey about their work?
I think everyone does, yes. When I feel crappy I usually revert to studies, ether traditional stuff, or from other artists I admire. That way I draw pretty things, even if they're not mine. After a few hours... .or days of this I loosen up and start drawing better personal stuff.
Or I just draw random things. owls are my latest thing... when in doubt draw owls...

    @OmertA: thanks love!

@Velocity Kendall: No, I never heard of them before, but now I think I'm in love. I don't think I can thank you enough for this link. Love how he integrates high fashion into his work too. Thank you thank you thank you.

@Rhubix: This is a fantastic idea. I will def try this in the future when I'm being lazy/bored/a talentless hack. I too love owl's but I have a terrible time drawing birds. I looove barn owls, so I think I might give that a try. Thanks for the tip.

@kiwigarbage: Thats probably because I have a super long face . At least they look okay, I guess D: Thanks!

Now I know i kept saying " oh man, gotta do a real good update next time hurrrr" so, I waited a bit. Not sure if this classifies as a decent one though, tbh.

I was listening to Takeo Toyama, and this happened.

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

I've been coming by all kinds of music recently i think. You know the whole..broadening the horizons and what have you...

    anyway.

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

Was listening to Everything Everything - NASA is on your side. This was actually an art trade with someone on dA. I think they liked it...hope so anyway. I like doing art trades and stuff and drawing other peoples characters. Makes me have to think about things differently.

This one is again, someone else's character, called Scilence.

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

I took some ...artistic privelages with this one a little bit. They said they liked it though. It was a bit strange, cause, I don't normally draw that light...I don't think so anyway.

This one is the first peice of a comission I have from someone.

    ʕ; `ᴥʔ ☆Sketchbook☆! (December 2016 Updated )

I was actually quite happy when the person asked me because they have a really fun style, and really liked how tribal and different it looked compared to most characters people have.

The original can be seen here

    His name is Astrazione.

It also gave me an excuse to spend more time looking for
    music
    to suit
    the mood
while I was drawing. And I have to draw the grey one next.So I'm totally hyped about that.

I really want to try painting that last one too, cause I havn't been spending much time painting, and alot with my pencils. I normally use just a parker mechanical pencil for most my drawings, but that last one i busted out my drawing pencils. It felt good. I forgot how awesome the quality is of those pencils. Need to use them more.

...Maybe next time I wont dissapoint!

    oh, and. Happy Easter.

Here's some other stuff. I feel like I'm really starting to neglect this. I jsut can't seemt o contribute beyond posting my own work. I hesitate everytime I want to write something to someone. I don't want to come off as...well anything coherently bad. So. I'll just drop these here. Sorry for being really useless.

    ...theres alot of crap...anyway.

This is something im currently working on, when i finish up all the shit I have to do.

    Attachment 1248211

The image is actually quite huge and has the rest of his body, but the face part is the only decent bit so, thats what I'm showing...

and um. I like asses, so I draw a few of them from time to time. Like these ones:

    Attachment 1248215

    and

    Attachment 1248221
(this one i waas actually happier with before i even added all the shading and whatever. Just looks funny to me now)

    oh and.

    Attachment 1248266

Lovely christopher. He's my favorite. And I drew this one at work on the fly. Which I shouldnt be doing, but it was jsut too quiet. So, nothing fantastic just...is.

    there is this thing too.

    Attachment 1248229

Which I also did at work. Should stop doing that...

    Attachment 1248232

and another one... god. I'm so awful.

    um. There's this thing :

    Attachment 1248218

I was trying to do that whole drawing a day thing. Totally can't do it. I get too emotionally attatched to every peice I do, so it becomes a struggle. But when I'm not , crap ensues. And I think these next few were as well...actually the majority of these were, but got extended over a few days...

    Attachment 1248242

    Attachment 1248246

    Attachment 1248249

We recently started watching star trek. Data is my absolute favorite. I want to give him a hug.

    Attachment 1248236

This last one I worked on for a long while. I was working on it when ever I had the chance, since I had very little time these past weeks. I was drawing on the bus, while walking, while watching stuff....at work again...

It's the face that haunts me. It's not as close as I would like it to be. It's not exactly how I see it in my mind, but it's close enough I suppose. Phantom things arn't very good at sitting still.

feeling pretty lazy this evening. Sorry.... So hard to stay motivated all the time. I got in a long winded conversation with about 4 people. Internet arguments. oh the drama.

I also managed to make a good friend, and loose that same friend within a span of a week. It was pretty akward. Not really in regret or anything but. It was strange.

Really interesting style you got here mixed up with art nouveau, manga and american style comic elements (i guess ). Pretty much every piece is enjoyable. You are good illustrator. Bravo!

Your stuff reminds me of Clochette's... cool and all.

It seems to me you're having trouble showing depth and dimension in your work; most of your stuff reads as flat... the cartoon designs are nice, and seem like a good comfort area for you.

If you're still looking for improvement, try building up your shapes using 3D solids some and see how that goes. Do some value studies. I think that would help.

    Cheers

I'd like to see more variety in the faces personally, they do seem to be related pretty heavily, but the full color stuff is wicked.

@Somelar: Thanks a mill bro. I guess I was mostly inspired by comics and cartoons when I was younger, and as I grew older I def began to have very very deep respect and inspiration from the great old guys. Then more recently have been drawn to american illustration from round 10-50's...

@CountBlackula: Hah, yeah Leyendecker and Mucha are probably two of my top fav artists of all time, and hopefully I'm not adopting too much of their style. Also I've come across James Jean before but never knew the name. Also, I never really get the time to draw people in pucblic. head too far in the clouds.

@Fniss: Thanks for the lovely words babe. Never really seen Andrew Jone's work before, and I may have come across it with fleeting glances, but from what I see he is very impressive. love love

    @Kiwee: Appreciate the love , dearest. Sensible? I wonder. Maybe it is... hard for me to see though ;A;

@silentinjections: Haha oh wow, I hope it works for you too. Though it's mainly good for sketching for me, as I dont have to erase and its a good weight for me. Practice practice practice!

    @theUNKNOWNsketcher: Daw, thanks love.

    @NickyBeats: I hope I don't dissapoint!

@p sage: You raise some good points. Most of my sketches are sans environments, which don't really help defining the shape. Though some of my more finished pieces usually have I guess what I call a bit of an ...i dunno abstract element? I focus alot on patterns and specifically how the lines look on the page in relation to the page size. I also think about basic geometric shapes and I think I subcontiously incorperate these basic shapes more and more into my images. Some examples to kind of explain, though I'm not sure if this even makes sense to anyone else :

    Attachment 1263537

    Attachment 1263539

    Attachment 1263540

    Attachment 1263541

They're very basic shapes, and usually consist of a semi circle near the top end of the page, as this is the focus of the ehad. I put alot of spirituality into my work, and thus always ends up containing some sort of halo/aura or some other head-centric peice....So I tend to focus more on shape and the direct feeling certain patterns and shapes can make more so than the "realisim" aspect of my style I suppose. I think the message I try to convey is something a bit more ... personal? maybe? Rather than being soley story telling, as all the stories I like to tell are more to do with personal psychological ideas and kind of...soul searching blasphemey. Hope this makes sense.

Though perhaps I'm not doing a good enough job if this isn't how people are seeing it!

    @Rollingman: Thanks brotherman.

@biskeet: Hah , wow really? I'm flattered dear. Glad you enjoyed some of the music, as that always plays a huge role in what I make.

@GeniusFetus: yeah , Having a larger array of character is key. I'm going to start doing CHoWs now cause I need a bit mroe variety. The vast majority of these are personal peices, so really only consist of the same 3/4 characters. But soon, maybe with these chows, more faces should arise soon.

Anyway Thanks again everyone. Heres a small update, thats not really all that.

    Some gay stuff :

    Attachment 1263547

    Some Pchat stuff :

    Attachment 1263550

My good buddy Enzymer Had done some pchatting with me. She drew the one on the left in the tea picture, and the awesome floating house pet on the right in the second one. I loooooooove her. SHe also has amazing hair.

    Attachment 1263551

    Attachment 1263552

    Attachment 1263554

And heres are jsut some pencil stuff I gotta finish up this week. If I find the time :

This one is actually the second half of a commission I was working on, and it's taken me ages to get a composition I was actually happy with. So hopefully they will think it was worth the time.

    Attachment 1263555

Just something I started drawing while on the bus.

    Attachment 1263556

Alright gotta go to bed. Sorry for any misspellings or whatevs. Yall keep it breezey. Hopefully next update won't be as lame :c.

Edit: Yeah,I was really sleepy when I did the post (even forgot to update the title :/ )and some of that shit just wouldn't fly. Also, credit must be given where credit is due.

love your work! and i really like how you plan out your comps like that. i think its more personal taste than lack of classic illustrative ability. most people seem to judge another artists works by comparing them to another artist that they admire. this always annoys me. i think an artists work shouldnt please everyone, and it should stand out, and represent what they have to say. so keep doing what your doing, you shouldnt have to explain your reasoning for your art. its looking awesome.

@NickyBeats: Amazing. I'll hold this to heart. Thanks for the compliments as well. I guess sometimes I get caught up in having to explain to the superiors, I often forget it's okay to just do your thing and move on without having to reason you every step and move. Though mind you , I do wonder myself sometimes how people start the skeletons of their own works and compositions...

    @rumpenstiltzkin: Thanks love.

    Just got back from holiday.

    Here are some things.

    Attachment 1283963

Finally finished that comission for Laark of her character Phantasmagorio right before I left. I also got a bunch of other cool shit for my brithday which can be seen at my blog if you want to bother...

    Attachment 1283947

Pchat with Zymes. This was shortly before I left on holiday. I decided it was dante and virgil. I love pchatting with her. Shes the best. It's like a tea party.

    Attachment 1283951

Casual sketch, probably still not done with it yet. Worked on it on the train, in cafes and other random places. I like how it's coming out. But working on something so might drop it a bit and only continue to work on it when i dont have time to draw.

    Attachment 1283955

I got A4 sized moleskine sketch book. Going to write a story in it. It will be. Fun. My holiday in Devon has rekindled my love for this old story I had in mind.

...kind of in a weird mood this evening...

It's been a bit of a while again, had alot of work to come back to after going away on holiday, and then had another week holiday this week, so had some time to finish a few things.

So I'm trying to focus on this one story mainly, and thought I'd do a little character sketch thing on lined paper. I havn't drawn on line paper in ages, but it was kind of helpfull honestly. I thought it looked great at the time, but with most things...looks a bit weird to me now... Still kind of like it though.

    Attachment 1322170

Then I finished this up, which I posted aaages ago.

    Attachment 1322175

And I'm still pretty happy with this one. I have so many unfinished pictures in my folder, and I just needed to break that mold. So I've finished it now, and started a second one...well started finishing a second one..

In the mean time my buddy Cephi prompted me to paint a bg for them.

It's not by any means fantastic, but I had to do it in 2 hours, and as you can see, I never draw any kind of enviornment, so I rekon it was a good exercise. She wanted a room with shelves and shelves of video games... so, i had to draw alot of lines very quickly mostly... so it wasn't exactly ground breaking either...

Then I got around to finishing this yesterday:

I actually did a live stream with this one, which was kind of fun. A bit nervous at first, but fun all the same. I tried to teach myself a bit more... about texture I suppose. I wanted more clash, super soft hair, some fur, but really chalk like horns...not sure how well its worked out, but I'm still happy with it... for now.

Oh and some detail. I normally don't like posting detail pictures, cause I feel like I'm being pretentious if I do, but I kind of feel like some of the work is lost otherwise. So...yeah.

I keep wanting to open up a Finally Finished thing, but..I don't think I'm ready for that kind of stuff yet.......no not even close.

Heres a song for you. you might like it : Check it

Sorry for being kind of lame again...but I'm starting to find it more difficult to try and be a good samitarian. I always feel like i have something usefull to say, but dont want to be a fool while saying it...

Amazing work, man! Loved your faces so much, but just to say something construtive, you should try some different expressions on those faces, they all look in the same mood. Their style is perfect, but this should give it a light and make them even better. I also like that art nouveau touch on your drawings, fits perfectly well!! I got to subscribe, this stuff inspires me! keep going : )
