Collywobbles: Thanks for the kick in the pants!

and to add a bit to what Collwobble was saying. Always try to keep in mind the measurements of the body. Like for example, the face proportions can be divided up so that the placement of the eyes, nose, lips, etc can be placed more accurately. Read Loomis' Drawing The Head and Hands page 23. Also, the body is symmetrical. So if your looking at an ortho front or back view. The left side of the body is going to be the same as the right side. This is true even when perspective and movement is involved, it just becomes a bit trickier.

I wanted to share this sheet with you guys. I made it so that I could print off a bunch of them and just study the hell out of 'em. Hope they can help some of you.

Made it a little extra big so you can print it off if you want.

and a little example of how I'm going to use it.

Some see the glass half full. Others see it half empty. I just try to see the glass!

sorry I couldn't make this morning's live stream, I have work in the morning on saturdays. anyways, here is today's crimson study.

they're not in chrono. order, but the first one is without reference, second figure is with reference, and last is without reference.

this was my first time doing a muscle study, I never delved that deep on anatomy.

First of all: I think I fail today - quality speaking. I've tried so hard during all the day, but I couldn't fell pleasure drawing today. Now I can see a lot of things that can be improved here and there. The only reason I'm posting these last studies is to keep track of my (our) evolution. Because now - more than never - Ill search that furiously, with my daggers in hand.

ps.: I can't admit that even with my fail I've learned some new things and how to fix some bad habits. This is why we can't stop to draw at the first moment of sadness. :-]

Having trouble with the shoulders and legs. As said, don't really know how much you don't know until you do this kind of stuff. I'm gonna be drawing some ninjas tonight and post it on here later on.

Well done everyone, you should all be very proud. Keep going!

here are my studies from today's lesson.i wasn't nor have i been on with you guys during the live stream. ive always done them later.

dave i want you to know that even though you talk about discipline and getting up and everyone all doing it together is important its just not gonna happen that early for me. but i want you to know as well as everyone else that iam taking this very serious and dont want you to stop what you are doing if counts are low on the live stream.

this isnt an ass kissing post but just letting you know post. onto my work.

i really liked todays study, found it hard but just doing the three lessons gave me a better idea of muscle anatomy.

so...I happen to like ninja turtles. This is the start of a foot clan ninja. I did this from memory so I'll most likely make changes to it with the help from Loomis (and maybe from you kind folk ) I'm not digging the way the arms are positioned..I dunno, the pose feels off. But I'll nail it with time. I think I'm retaining at least some of the shit I've been studying. Cool beans.

    cheers

domo arigato: Nice work man! TMNT all the way! I can't say for sure what's up with the hands, but one thing I'll do is to stand in front of the mirror in a similar pose and study what might be whack. The only draw back to this is I usually have to tone down the rippling muscles a bit so all my drawings don't look like the Hulk. coOL Beansss!

i think where the back arm meets the shoulder is a bit awkward, that might be whats throwing it off.
