    Tran Nguyen's Paintings {update - 09.9.11}

    A friend recommended that I post my paintings here rather than my sketch thread.

    As a brief description of my overall oeuvre, I very much enjoy illustrating allegorical representations of everyday-life emotions/situations.

    I hope they warm your soul.

    I remember seeing the second picture in SCAD's booklet. I really like your style. The first pic is my favorite, her face is lovely and the birds are a nice touch.

    The way you distort and flatten space in your pieces is really masterful. What's great is not only do you render space so well, you incorporate it into the composition in really intriguing ways, my favorite being the 5th piece.

    I totally love your work! Really nice handling of everything, and the symbolism is expressed beautifully. A real inspiration.
