Just my thoughts. Keep making lovely paintings either way!
Hi! Actually, I used to mostly paint Asians because I was most familiar with their features due to the fact that I'm Asian, myself. I think classmates started suggesting that I vary the ethnicity and so I did. There's a couple of paintings that still retain those Asian features but yes, nowadays, it mostly focuses on Western features that I find interesting-- the variety of hair color, eye color, skin color, prominent nose, etc. That's my reason. And thank you very much for the kind words.

Hi Max! I've actually known of their work and met Eric in person several months ago at my show. They're fantastic artists as well as people. Thanks a lot!

I know this has already been said, but your pieces remind me of Klimt. They both seem to have a similar interplay with semi-realistic figures and abstract forms.

    Your work is really inspirational.

Oh my, those eyes . Can't get enough staring at those.

I love how you gradually soften the focus, especially one on the back of her head (the scarf). Wow. What a feat. Are you using reference?
Oh and, I'm curious about the yellow blocks. Are they pasted on?

Keep it up and keep sharing your works please

    paintings for the Levine Show

I did these 3 for the current Jonathan Levine Show in NYC. Please enjoy them.

Witcrack: The gold blocks are acrylic paint and not pasted on. And yes, I do use reference for faces. I like to get those humanly features but without being too realistic at the same time.

Beautyful new paintings. I admire artists who controll the acrylic medium. It has never suited my temprament, so I use oiltempera myself.

Breathtaking. This whole "bringing pattern into world space" thing you've been doing is just hot beyond words. Your rhythm is flawless too.

Beautiful work. I remember seeing your piece, and believe me it's difficult to remember individual pieces, while jurying Spectrum 17. A new voice I hadn't seen. I was excited to see where you would go. Looks like you're doing well. Wish I could have been in the Potter show with you all. Just no time right now. Keep up the great work.
