    Original is a Dean Cornwell done in Oil. Mine was done digitally.

    Lookin good evan, you might want to consider pushing her right arm out to open up the silhouette. If not doing that, I'd lighten her shorts color to really push the guns shape and mostly so we can see the muzzle. Enjoy the workshop man!

    @takashmen: Thanks for the crit. I actually stepped back and modified a couple of her proportions. Your SB is killer.

    @MetalFingers: Hey Alex!! Yeah, I know what you mean. The gun is hard to see against her shorts and I think there are a some things that need to be modified so that it reads. Thanks for the crit
    ========================

    I am at the TAD workshop in Kansas City at the moment and I am super pumped to be going into my third semester at TAD. The charcoal drawings are from life this week and the character is the finished version for this week's assignment. Jason was said that I needed to work on her face and give it some personality so that way she would be unique. This was an assignment to create a character that could be a new class in Team Fortress 2.

    The helmet is an acrylic painting that was my final for Color and Comp 2.

    The cast drawing is where I am at on the long drawing. I still have about 30 more hours to go on it.

    Thanks for looking and enjoy!

    A few of my better figures from tonight's 2 hour session. Each of these drawings are 5-10 minutes.

    Thanks for looking. I got an assignment last night to do a zombie character concept for a mobile game. I should have the WIP's showing up over the next few days

    man, this workshop sounds fuggin dope! cool assignments, good to see they are changing up the assignments as we move into our majors. This is real nit picky, but on the Cornwell copy, I think you used a bit too much palette knife brush which ends up with a lot of marks moving in the same direction, carving those shapes out with a more rectangular or hard round would do wonders for really solidifying shapes. Keep it up man! you are doing excellent work.

    Your figure sketches are amazing. How often do you draw?

    Nice work, you show a lot of progression throughout this thread, and I think it's awesome that you are pursuing a career as an artist instead of doing the 'sensible' thing!
    On to critiqueing:
    Surfer zombie: cool design, I love the little surfer in his hair! He is really clean for a zombie though; his skin is a pretty fresh color and despite being chewed up by supposedly a zombie shark, he hasn't got a lot of blood smudges on his skin. Furthermore: the way his left leg is bent makes it look like he is leaning against something rather than standing on his own.
    I like the portraits, they look really well for 15 minutes. The first one however seems to have a bit of a flat head and some of the others appear to have quite big chins and noses... that could be the models though?
    I like your pen drawings, the horses look good, and the shading on the face of the last one gives it real depth.
    Nice stuff
