@rumpenstiltzkin: thanks man! I've been working hard. Things are starting to click and they are taking considerably less time. I still get some 'poo' drawings here and there.

    -----

so yeah... finally caught up on my figure homework. If anyone wonders why I don't post much else besides my figures it's because it all sucks. haha. not to mention, I can do a 15 minute figure and feel good enough about it to show it, where everything else takes forever if it ever even gets to the point where it is decent enough to show. I am also taking 2 figures classes this semester and I have life drawing 3 hours a week when I can manage to make the time to show up. /cross finger

    so... here are more figures.

I always felt it's tiring to see much information in a short time... Maybe that's why I pay back visits late sometimes.
And now my head is full and can't say anything but:
Cool figures!!! I really like the traditional ones, not sterile but artistically messy... mmm.

@shiNIN: Thanks. I really try to find a way to exaggerate my figures and I try to keep them a bit loose.

An illustration I did last night. I call this finished, but I think that I could push it a lot further.

Some skull studies from last night. I loved doing these and I felt pretty confident the whole time. It seems that drawing bones suits the way I naturally draw.

    Hey all,

    A couple of images today.

My cousin and I have been working on a card game for awhile. It's a fast paced card game with a pirate theme. That's all I can say at the moment. I will release more information when we get to the point where we are going to start promoting it. If you live in Houston or Austin, you might have played it at a local card shop. I plan/hope to have a working demo to take to spectrum live this May. The game itself is polished and i would say 95% finished, but the art is nonexistent and I have a bunch of work ahead of me. I can't wait to get this project up and running.

Here are some super super preliminary sketches for the card design.

Thyname - There is no Plan B

Here are some recent figure drawings and a few ink drawings.

A lone sketchbook page. I draw a lot in my sketchbook, but the pages come out shitty more often that not. I felt this was a decent enough page to scan and throw up here.

And of course, some quick homework exercises.

Hot damn, look at all those eyes. Great studies Evan. You've been pushing and it's showing. Aww you should post the D3 piece anyway Maybe post it and talk about what you would have done differently, or what you would change.

@ninjac: hehe. Yeah, that was a ton of eyes. I am going to work on the d3 piece a bit more and then I will post it. I think it's important to post my uber failures as well

    =====

Here is an illustration I did last night. The assignment had to do with grouping figures and it was a huuuuge lesson for me. When I am thumbnailing, and the comp feels like it's missing something i stick more clutter in it. It never crosses my mind, that the best solution might be to simplify the piece. I know I haven't posted in awhile, but I have been cranking stuff out and I just haven't had time to scan and present all my work. I will probably have a huge post next month after the semester is out.

the drapery studies are beatifull! the ink lady, I think shes falling apart for some reason. the linework might be a bit too careful; the lines not connecting one piece to the other.

@ashess: Thanks. I agree with the ink lady. I want to have some lost edges but there are no darkest darks. I think that is messing with the piece. Thanks for the crit! I'd love to get more

It's been awhile... haha. To say the least. I probably have 70 images to upload, but I will scan stuff in a made a post of the better work when I get back to Austin next week. For now, here are some sketches from the TAD workshop

Yes yes, I love the studies! So much improvement! I think even more face studies will pay off a lot. When you're studying something, do you also try to do it from memory, and then incorporate what you learn into work from imagination?

    Here's my sketchbook!
