    Raffix: Thanks for the paintover! I turned the feet inwards to get the "monster" look and the client really liked that, although it did look a little awkward. Your stuff's looking good btw!

    First day off from client work in 3 weeks! Really needed to give my eyes and tendons a rest but squeezed in a couple of quick studies. The first is based on a random photo from the net, the second is my other half posing while eating toast. Mostly trying to work on my colours and edge control/touch variety

    looking nice dude! edges are looking really nice in the portrait.
    colour study for the ragnaros piece is solid, temperature contrasts look great. maybe saturate the blues a touch is all i'd say

    Virg: Thanks! Will be doing more sphere/material studies soon. They really seem to help a lot with understanding the material's properties rather than just copying a photo.

    Harmageddon: Hahah ty! You should have a look around though, there are way better sketchbooks than this.

    Nibras: Ty! Really hoping to start doing more portraits, pref in oils though when I get some time.

    Raffix: Thanks. Think you're right there about the saturation. Hopefully it's looking a little better now.

    Metal Fingers: Thank you Mr. Fingers!

    Quick update on rag, still not sure on the foreground colours and the composition on the right side. I had added some rock in there to spiral it in a bit more but it was looking a bit too contrived. Ah well, will figure something out...

    awesome stuff! just awesome!

    I like parts from both of them... I like the fact that B has a strong foreground element but I also feel that the contrast on the shield is slightly too strong.. I feel like my eyes keep wanting to go back there even though I don't find it the most interesting thing of the piece.

    I like A because it feels a bit more open.. but I feel like there isn't a strong foreground element.. which maybe takes away a bit of depth for me. Maybe if those rocks were slightly bolder? lastly I feel like rag's eyes could contrast a tiny tiny bit more with the rest of his head for maybe a stronger impact?

    these are just my thoughts and feelings and take em how you want!

    Nice sketchbook - I love your style and design sense!

    And on your WIP, I like B better just because there's more eye candy there overall, but the glowing/highly reflective foreground element (fork sword thing?) is really distracting and unbalances the comp in a bad way in my opinion. Just my .02!

    Yo Vesh, not sure how recently I commented in here but I'd like to give my opinions on your rag comps and your studies.
    The studies are ridic especially second one in #604 and that of your partner. No crits on those they are just great.
    The semi study in #611 I love the clouds but im not sure about the snow, it seems a bit too uniform and there seem to be flatter areas up top of the mountains where snow would probably still be, just a little thing.

    And for your rag comps even though it's 5 days since you asked I think A works better as a composition, the worgen seems to fight for the focal point with rag and I find myself not sure what I'm supposed to look at plus having one of the characters that size on the page kind of takes away the scale of rag and makes him less impressive. I dno, just trying to be constructive

    Love your stuff always, motivated whenever I come in here.

    Great stuff man, I like how you've used a bunch of different brushes in the study of your other half, has a nice multimedia look to it. For the big lava dude painting, I'd go with A personally, it seems to push the scale much more. In B, the lava guy doesn't seem as huge and intimidating. Keep it up.

    soulburn3D: I like the depth of B too but hopefully some tweaks on A will get that same effect. A seems to be working better overall I think. Thanks for the feedback!

    This Chronosassin *eyeroll* was an entry for last week's CHOW which I missed the deadline for due to client work, but decided to gradually finish up anyways. I designed a few different helms with bat, cobra, skull and stealth bomber shapes going on but decided to strip it back in the end. There's also a pretty funky clockwork blade which retracts into an arm-mounted sheath in my sketchbook somewhere but there was nowhere near enough time to figure it out properly and do call-out drawings unfortunately.

    Also some very rough characters done for a film pitch. I can't say who the client is but he's written/directed a fair few Hollywood projects recently so fingers crossed for this one...
