    perspective study

just a perspective study that's still a WIP. any suggestions on what this guy should be riding? also, i know some of his anatomy is off, especially w/ his silly leg. haha.. WHAT SHOULD HE RIDE?!?!? URRRHGHGGHGG... environment is subject to change, i just put random shit to make it look 'filled' up. :3

also, notice my ghetto make-shift horizon perspective grid??

Wait is that a tool? I keep seeing stuff like that but have no idea how to get to it or use it.

    Also, it's looking good!

    hands+torso

@lolbbq: thank you very much buddy :3 it helped a great deal when i decided to subtract a bunch of other elements from that picture and decided to incorporate some sort of perspective.

@Enydimon: umm I believe there is a tool in PS CS2/CS3, but I didn't know how to access it either, so I just improvised and used the Shift+Left Click with the brush to make straight lines lol... and I do hope it turns out good, thank you!

so I didn't get to attend that crimson dagger session this morning cuz work cut into it, but i'll get to that after this post here are just some practices I did during work.

1st image: studying my left hand!
2nd image: trying to study the torso..?

    perspective work update!

om nom nom, working on this right now, just wanted to show what little progress i made.

i finally decided what he should be riding, something that's a cross between a chocobo and some moth thing, (not sure if u can read the antennas on its head). still needs more rendering before its easily readable.

Keep it up, it's looking good.

BTW, I figured out how to use the vanishing point tool in photoshop, it's actually kind of easy if you tinker around with it and look up some things.

    perspective work update!

@Enydimon: thanks eny! looks like I'll have to mess with PS more to find that vanishing tool, or use the power of google ..

so I worked on this further while watching the Pacquiao vs Cotto boxing match. woooot pacman wins anyways, while I was working on this perspective study I had mr. Kekai's website opened and I got inspired by his snow scene battle with the knight. So.. I kinda incorporated that kind of environment on this.

I don't know what to do about the character in the picture, does he look good as is?

Yeah, it's actually a lot easier than I thought. It should be under the filter menu or you can go ctrl+Alt+V. Set it up(make sure you have a layer for the vanishing point stuff) and then there's a small arrow at the top right where you click it, a menu comes down, and you can tell it to render it to photoshop. Backspace to get rid of any planes you don't want.

I think you're showing too much of the side of the bird/moth's head. We should be seeing more of the top portion.

Did you draw today? ❒ Yes ❒ No

Good to see you join up with the Crimson Daggers. I'd join, but I feel like I'm too busy, lol.

Your proportions are looking a lot better. Keep it up!
