    well here's a not-so-great update ;3... here's random scribbles/doodles and a value study

ugh, I dunno if any of you ever felt like this but lately I've had this feeling that I know I'm improving but at the same time I feel that I'm not improving... (does that make sense?). I try to imply what I'm learning to whatever I draw but it doesn't show, I think these mixed emotions are making me produce crap haha. Perhaps it's just a phase of all the studies... 3': I still have the drive to do art but I'm just not able to put down what I want to draw for some reason.

I really like the wizard but a really good thing to practice is making the lines on his sleeve( or any cloth in general) to show the points of pressure so that it flows more. If the cross hatches go against the other then it makes it less pleasing than a continuous flow. if that makes any sense

and for the portrait try makin the darkness proportionate to the actual shape of the face because it seems as though the darkness near the chin is like too dark making it look like either she has abeard or she has an indent.

anywho good sketchbook keep up the studies

@Lightmode108: haha thanks for your input Lightmode. Perhaps I should get around to doing fabric/drapery studies . As for the portrait, thanks, I can see what you mean now. (^-^d)

okay so here's a section of a repin painting study (WIP), random sketches, and a bad color attempt at a pencil sketch (which i probably won't continue on). that's all for now :3

Ah, I remember my sister had an art book of the Dark Stalkers when I was little. I took it to daycare to look at, and I would always draw the wolf guy, I can't remember his name. Was it John? I like your fan art though! Obligatory :3 for Teapo!

Your figure drawings in pencil are very nice - good construction and form. Your digi-paints sometimes look a bit flat, like there's not enough modelling through tone and accurate drawing - it might be worth doing more photo studies in that area. As you say - patience is the key with those ones - it's better to take ages and get it right, than rush it and learn the wrong things. I'd use the colour picker too to 'check' your colours (guess it first, then check it and then adjust it - i.e "needs to be warmer" "needs to be less saturated" etc) - the fruit looks really good, just some of the skins tones in the faces are off (not warm enough in places - except for blanka obviously!).

@GoGoJojo: thanks jojo~ yeah his name was Jon Talbain or something lolz. *googles* :3

@Puck: thank you Puck for the helpful words. You're right about things looking flat in my digitals. I have a weakness in there (majorly) :3 I will take your advice, and I find myself doing the color picker after guessing colors as well. Thanks again dude!

    @Lav: Thank you buddy :3

anyway here is a value study of sir Randis Albion lolz

very very nice mate.Do you understand why you have putted values that do all this contrast effect? i mean check the rgb bars and see the different in the distance of your values. If you understand it then you know what you did and the amount of main value differences you have. Can you see limited values(probably3, with 4th beign the highlights if you want)and make something with the same accuracy but different.Lol i may becoming confusing but just try to see the regions where you have the same values and keep it limited, dont try to see the graduation values.(these can be added after the basics)
very good work, now keep up the good work

@kingkostas: hey kingkostas, thanks for dropping by again :3 and no your comment wasn't confusing haha. but yes, i get what you mean by simplifying the values to just 3 or 4 values. i think the problem with me most of the time is i'm trying to see the gradation between the value shifts as you stated, but i will try to keep it more simple from now on :3

Definate improvement going on here. Maybe try and slow things down a little and try to nail the drawing underneath the colour, before going on to paint - some of them are a little skewed. Really nice progression, keep working hard

random color study of a bird (crap), decided to do some gestures to make up for technical anatomy that i didn't do today, but to be honest, i think i need to work on gesturing as well cuz i'm really bad at it . also, some red goblin dude i was working on today.

Thanks for posting in my SB!

I am seeing improvements in your pencils, some of them are really nice. Anatomy and figure studies are getting a lot cleaner and more accurate.

#287 and #290 are nice digital portrait studies.

And I would hold on to the last digital work you put up. If you are not feeling it now, you may at a later time want to finish it. I try to have a couple different things(artworks/studies) going on at once so I don't get bored and overthink things.

but yeah, looking good man ill be checking back on ya.

nice mate, i am glad you do a lot of studies.Yep probably everything you do will be improved if you focus on getting a great drawing before stepping into values and such.
But anyway i think that if you keep up you will go there very soon, you already show nice improvement.
Btw the more thought you put in your studies the faster you will run
    see ya

2 hours on this still life, i don't think it compares to my others xD but i'm happy with it, the onion is really difficult, there should be more details, but i didn't wanna get hung up on every small detail. I got frustrated with the plate so much haha
