    Movie Trailers = Plot Summaries?

    Incoming rant.

Is it just me, or do the movie trailers recently have to show the entire story, beginning, middle and climax. More like a summary and a teaser.

I think it started with the Iron Man trailer, now it's become a bit of a trend in Hollywood it seems.

    I'll list some examples.

"Moon" - Wow, you spoiled your own twist.

"Prince of Persia" - It even has narration for the blind.

"Tucker and Dale Vs Evil" - They accidentally the whole movie.

"Avatar" - Should've left it at the first teaser...

I see where you are coming from. If you're going to do a teaser, don't give away the whole story.

That's just bad marketing people. Still sometimes I indeed do like to see at least a glimpse of what could happen. Keeps me excited.

Yeah :/ where's the mystery? Ah well.

That and giving up major plot points. I really noticed that with the trailer for Terminator Salvation, pretty much told you what Sam Worthington's character was right away (again, like in Avatar).

Its just a different marketing strategy, a whole lotta people like knowing before the movie how it might turn out, i have actually seen people who completely know the story of a movie through net or some person they know before they watch a movie. Its just a different feed, thats all.

I remember picking up Prey video game without knowing anything about it, it starts at the bar and then without warning, you get abducted by aliens, I was so overwhelmed, it felt like a real abduction because I never expected the game to turn sci-fi. Same for movies, sometimes I just go without seeing the trailer.

Or I hate when trailers show the ending of the movie like in "Quarantine". I know giving away plot points suck but don't spoil whole ending.
