About that creature, i think its very good as a concept piece. As an illustration it needed more world probably.I also like that last one and damn awesome vehicle sketches up there. You have to prove yourself u can work with a full workflow, doing pre-sketches, planning the composition and stuff and then rendering and stuff to find out what things u lack and to train yourself on a way that u could work on whatever situation and subject.
I like your works so far.Keep up improving everything, since you are on the right track now, whatever u do goes on the good side
    keep it up

Ok guys, this will be a post with some blabla from my side.
I whant to tell you some stuff about me which will probably clear up some questions that came up in the process.
So, where to start .... hmm ok, lets start with the question: WHY BLIZZ? actually its not just because im such a big blizzard game nerd. everything started way back when i was a child. by accident a version of the dragonlance artbook fell into my hands. i started to draw dragons and knights all day long. i where soo fascinated by all this fantasy stuff. then, my best friend bought a copy of warcraft 3 everything started rolling. he played the campange while i where sitting on a chair beside him, and there where so SUPERCOOL pencil-sketches on the loadingscreens. i where so blown away because id never seen stuff like that before. this is where i startet to play blizzard games and drawing orcs, nightelves and dwarfs. i thought i where sooo cool because i could draw the best freakin orcs at my school. and because of that i actually thougt that im one of the best orc drawers in the whole damn world (hahaha). waaay later when i got older i recodnised that im not even the 24909453 best "orc drawer" at all and that crushed my little "world of warcraft". but then it happened. another friend of mine bought the collectors edition of wow-burning crusade which certainly contained a big, over 100 sides-strong version of the artbook. and you know what? HE DONATED it to me! just because he knew i loved all these blizz artworks. and thats the point where i started to DRAW! i looked at every side literally for hours. i tried to figure out how these guys where able to pull out soo amazing sketches and artworks. and when you look close enough at all these artworks and then back to my stuff you will find conformities in style to date. just bacause i observed it so close. and to return to the question: WHY BLIZZ? blizzard got me started, and i feel so tight-knit to them. they act as a substitute for everything i life for. perfection, style aplomb and quality. sure there are alot of different companys and sure i would love to work there aswell but my big dream is to work for the guys who made my childhood.
some people asked me if i use references when i draw illustrations like this "skaven" piece. and the answer is just: no! i dont use references at all when i draw. i may take a look at some pictures which come up when i type in "skaven" into googlesearch, but i dont have like my secondary screen full of reference pictures. i dont know if this is good or not, but thats the way i work.
i have times where i just draw from reference but to be truthful with you ... i suck at copying pictures!!. i never had anyone telling me how to draw or even what. im actually 90% selftought. non the less im very thankful for all the help you guys are giving me and conceptart pushed me ALOT! but in the end everything i can do now is just bacause i sit down and draw (not as much as i should be). and although im self-critical as f*** and i hated me and everything i was doing for soo long and still will from time to time, i have to say now that im proud of where i got so far!
i never had imaged that i will come that far at all, and again i what to thank all of you guys for being here and taking a look at my work, giving me the chance to exist as and upcoming artist in this world. i may not be some kind of an "algenpfleger" or "mr delicious" in any means but i will fight my way up to the top no matter if i dont get like 10 pages of replys for a "sketch". i dont even what this, i just whant to feel good with what im doing and for now i do!

i hope you guys dont mind me for not responding everyone personaly as i had promised, but be sure that im reading every comment closely and thinking about all the critiques very deeply.

beside of that ton of letters, the update:

    cheers lateman

Haha, way to long since I visited here. I'm jealous of your mechanical stuff .
Last piece is cool, but I'm missing some focal points (bit it's still wip), I also think his left underarm is too long.
Nice text btw , just keep drawing and you'll have the chance to work for Blizzard, see you there ^^ haha .

Just keep going man and keep having fun!

That skaven dude looks great, man! Perhaps you could add some shine to his head armor thing to draw the eye more to his face? Anyhoo, great work!

just read your thoughs man...and i'm sure that you will, if you keep processing like this, doing some illustration studies and having fun as you apparently have, than you will be faster as bliz than you might think. i hope so. my best of luck mate!

I wasn't in the mood to draw today until I checked your sb out...thanks for your visit btw!

p.s love your imagination, the Scraven is looking too dark but some well chosen highlights should make it rock! only crit would be after reading your monologue is to use reference and draw from life more, drawing from pictures is only good if you know your subject inside and out, otherwise the finished picture looks flat, that's something i'm working on too, I'm a sod for just working from google pictures (it's too damn easy)

nice skaven amigo! You've got some great stuff in here and you are obviously working towards your goal. Just be focused and don't let anyone distract you from that goal and you'll get there one day! I love the pencils in this sketchbook and your digital paints are interesting too. (I'm just a sucker for pencils, like those on the first blizzard game you played).

Keep up the hard work, and perhaps one day we'll be working for blizzard in the same studio (who knows)

It's been a while since I last posted here, and I have to say; you have managed to maintain that level of quality since page one. As for those mechanical designs, I would like for you to do some more of those when the time is available.

Sometimes this site just makes me confused.....a whole bunch of purely finart SB's in the wrong section gets 5 stars and your work is only 4? what the f&*k people? Being able to paint a pretty oil pic or pencil sketch from life is just peachy but doing hardcore work like this takes much more....I know from experience.

Sorry for the rant in your skecthbook but I saw your work and just wanted to go and do some cool artwork! I generally just lurking looking for cool work to inspire me and your did so 5 stars and keep it up......pleeeease cos if I see another fine artsy fartsy I might just head-butt my screen!!

Stop voting for fine art and vote for cool concept work!!!!

Happy new years! Liking the sketchbook work. Alot of energy to them, but I think certain parts like the facial features you could just slow down a tiny bit because they seem to need more attention from you, if ya get me. Anyway good stuff keep at it!
