Horse WIP - Need CC / Redline

I've been trying to move into doing more realistic work, and this is really one of my first real shots at doing something completely realistic. It will be lightly inked and finished with gauche, and is one a light watercolor paper.

What I need help with: The foreshortening of the body seems... just off to me. I've moved it around a little bit but I just can't seem to find the sweet spot for it.

The other real problem I have is that I can't make the eye look normal. Horses have such dark, dark eyes that I'm having trouble translating that into a pencil sketch.

I think you're mixing up codes to post images . HTML coding is .

Now as for crits, I'm wondering if you've used a reference? It looks like you used multiple references but still tried to draw it from the head. If you want to learn how to draw horses realistically, I suggest you draw directly from reference. Often. Horses are difficult to get down right, so you need to sketch them a lot to get the right feel for them. Here is a great stock for horse pictures.

I redlined your picture a bit. I'm not a star in drawing horses though I've tried drawing them a lot in the past, I hope it'll help you out:
