This parasitic grub is the larvae of a special strain of fruit fly. It is injected into the flesh of the grape by the parent fly, where it attaches an umbilical-like chord to the stem of its makeshift womb, sapping the nutrients from the vines on which they grow. Left to take its course, the grub will expend the grape's resources, before using its sharp mandibles to eat its way out and emerge as an adult fly, starting the cycle over.
Satyr's are famed for eating copious amounts of grapes, and so it is these mythical beasts that are the Satyr Slayer's main "prey", though it's process could be described passive aggressive more so than antagonistic. An ironic yet strategic twist of nature means that the larvae strongly resemble the seeds of the grape, and so are often mistakenly consumed in the eating process. The grub, now without a nutrient sack in which to incubate, and having lost its ability to judge it's level of maturity, sends out new roots into the digestive tract of its unwary host.
It remains beyond the reach of digestive acids, lodged in the wall of it's surrogate womb, where it grows exponentially, sapping on the nutrients of Satyrs and causing significant swelling and pain. Once the host becomes too weak, the Satyr Slayer dislodges itself from the stomach wall, and passes through both the small and large intestines, before eating its way out of the host's anus, leaving a trail of shredded organs and bloody pulp in its wake.

The "Satyr Slayer" is also known by the names "Piping Prowler" and "Pan's Bane". Living deep within the heart of the forest, this solitary and territorial predator has a unique way of hunting its favorite prey. By drawing air through a specialized snout and diverting it through the pipe-like horns sprouting from the base of its skull, the Piping Prowler creates a haunting mimicry of the "pan flutes" used by satyrs to communicate over short distances. Once a Slayer has lured a lone or small group of satyrs deep into the heart of its hunting grounds, it ambushes them using its sharp claws and elongated canines to sinister effect.

Reason: Sorry... dealing with a calibration issue. And changed file name to match rules.
A nocturnal hunter, this creature does not infact prey soley on satyrs, but its highly sensitive vision is often attracted by movement of satyrs dancing and celebrating in the woods over which these fierce predators hunt. Using its powerful limbs and vicious talons the Satyr Slayer swoops numerous times on groups of its prey, dealing as much damage as possible before landing to devour its meal. Its darker underside and silent flight means it's prey rarely know of their fate until well after their limbs have been removed.

Born of an unholy union of spider, auroch, wolf, and minotaur.
Mainly created and kept as pets for elvish necromancers to gather the blood and horns of satyrs for their evil spells. They are rarely seen far from their master.
Just an unholy bird of prey, with a thick skull to stand the happy satyr hooves...
Ah!, that red sack under his neck is used to produce nice wistling songs to attract... you know... those filthy satyrs that enjoy so much dancing and using the pipe...
PS: this is so similar to radius... D: coincidence? or convergent evolution?
Passing above the canopy of the deep forests,
the Fishers home in on their ancient enemy;
The Satyr.
Those cowardly creatures who hunt the young Fishers for sport,
not even for food do they kill them.
And so the adult Chromatic Forest Fisher does return the favour;
Satyr Slayers.
The word ‘anarchy’ comes from the ancient Greek αναρχία in which αν meant ‘without’ and αρχία meant first a military ‘leader’ and then ‘ruler’. Anarchist society is one ‘without rulers’: a classless, non-hierarchical society.

Artist:Mordus Concept:Satyr Slayer Description: The Satyr have, for centuries, fled their creator, the mad deity Bacchus, who in his rage cursed them with the forms of beasts. In terror they escaped his realm of illusion and intoxication and made their way to the forests of the land, intending to hide from him for all time.
They were betrayed. A faction of the Satyr known as the Blackening Bark let slip news of their escape to Bacchus. He reached down and planted his mark upon their brows, smoking and vile, and they were transfigured utterly into foul devils. Now they walk in every Satyr's shadow, waiting to tear their heart out and eat their life.
my idea
satirists are to love sex and go to the forest in search of nymphs to meet your needs.
the satyr slayer uses that crush, because in his back grows a woman, that he does is call the attention of satirists, when they reach the hunter and he
turn around and zass !
Very fast in short distances, this creature is a fierce predator, they mainly eat deers, but they're favorite food is Satyr meat, its one of the only creature capable of hunting down Satyr, so that's why their common name is Satyr slayer.
Concept: The Unwanted They are the freaks, the shunned, the offspring of Nature gone horribly wrong and of Magik that was never meant to be. They were once the brethren of all things fanciful, beautiful and good. Now they are the remnants of what they once were. Satyrs themselves, The Unwanted know the ways of their society and their habits and desires. They seek solace in their quest for vengeance and find enjoyment destroying life whenever it is abundant. They leave nothing in their path but death and devastation.

The Furien is a distant relative to the Siren bird of the coast, but prefers the woodlands around Bachus' homestead. Through decades of natural selection,it has developed an almost perfect lure to capture resident satyrs. Their neck and tip of the beak strongly resemble a naked woman, which, when hiding,it will wiggle around as to make it appear dancing. In this, the horns are very helpful aswell, looking almost like arms. A perfect deception for the drunk-off-their-asses satyrs which frequent these woodlands. Luckily more sober ones (seldom as they are) recognize the trap and stay away, ensuring that the prey never goes extinct.

Concept: Sheep with the White Horn Dull but deadly - the enforcer of Pan the god to hunt down and kill any creature in Arcadia who have stray out of the path of nature.
Concept: Demons of the White Forest It is spoken in hushed voices that the White Forest Demons are the resurrected forms of Satyrs who have committed murder. Regardless of their origins, these demon have hunted the once happy Satyr mercilessly since the growth of the White Forest. These demons seem to be drawn to sounds of merry making and the smell of sweet wine. Slinking in the shadows of the forest, they uses their wine scented tail to draw inebriated Satyrs away from the group. Those that leave are never seen again. Their distant cries of agony can be heard whispering through the forest.
"Made by pervert greek witches, these abominations seeks the satyrs manhood, to cut it off with its grafted scissors, later the "member" will be embalmed and sold as a sex toy."
satyr slayer. a subspecies of satyr's. a denizen of the whispering wood.
i have been following this lethargic and quite melancholy creature for over a month now.
though i have had the rare privelige to see it hunt but thrice.
hunter of the satyrius capricornus, the slayer, it seems to follow an unknown scent across vast tracts of the endless whispering wood.
once it has seen a party of satyr's its temperment transforms to that of an enraged stag.
setting about the unfortunate clumsy satyr, it makes thrift work.
truly the slayer has a fearsome predatorial body.
i hope to the gods its tiny gaze does not focus upon me.

Concept: Syzygosatyr Most would never guess that a syzygosatyr is a female version of a satyr just by looking at it. These "satyr-wives" are jealous and wrathful, famous for their habit of castrating their unfaithful satyr husbands before killing them.

Concept: satyr slayer Moving under ground seeking out its pray this mean bastard of nature won't miss an opportunity to feast upon satyrs. And yes, they are just over-grown earthworms but don't dare tell them that.
"I told you, this monster was chasing me for days.... now I am happy that i've just lost my...ehhhh... but I kept my life, and .... and... I still have my music"

Eunuch Satyr
Forest Guardians were made by the Nameless Goddess of the Forest, who was tired of solving the problems with her pregnant nymphs. She created from the trees and plants race of protectors, who were guarding the nymphs from the Satyrs. They are absolutely deaf and they can't be charmed by the Satyrs music, but they definitely can smell the butt of the running Satyr...

Concept: Satyr Slayer The Satyr Slayer is a highly-adaptive creature that actually takes on the appearance of its main prey. Semi-aquatic, the Satyr Slayer at one time used to be quite attractive, having made its main course out of voluptuous water nymphs. The Satyr Slayer slowly began changing its tastes from nymph flesh to mutton after having lost many a meal to the presence of lusty satyrs flushing out the nymphs from ponds and lakes.
The Satyr Slayer is neither fast nor very strong, so it relies on camouflaging against murky waters. The mouth is located above the mock goat face as a secondary surprise element to confuse satyr avoidance maneuvers during a surprise attack.
The satyr slayer was a vicious demon set on the satyrs by Hades. Their noisy merrymaking infuriated Hades and after his polite but stern knocking on the roof of the underworld were ignored, Hades sent up on of his most effective means of pest control. The satyrs tried to fight back with their enchanted weapons but their fighting skills were hindered by the vast amounts of wine they had consumed. The satyrs were subdued and Hades returned to doing his evil deeds in peace.

Concept: Ventaurion Born of Centaur and Dragon blood, the Ventaurions are left as a clean up crew for the Satyr vermin which spread the plague that wiped both species off the map.
With a taste for vengeance and the cunning and sheer destructive determination to eradicate Satyr, these beasts roam the land searching for and destroying half-breeds alerted by not only the scent but also the sign of pink weeping willow where the Satyr prefer to nest.
After capturing the hoofed prey, the Highland Satyr Slayer poisons the satyr with the venom from it's spiked tail, rendering him unconscious. He transports his quarry with the wing-like claws on his back, up the mountain to his lair, where he indulges in a tasty snack.

Concept: Manahkonanian Pan'morir In the early days when the Gods of the forests made all beasts on hoof, cloven and not cloven, they made an upright pair to represent all others. But there was one among the Gods who looked down upon the beasts of the forest. When the second one was forged this God approached it in secret and cursed it with evil whispers. So it came to be that these two, the Satyr, and the Pan'morir were made into eternal enemies. The magical Satyr, in its lustful hunts could never move safely through the deeper woods. While in the midst of intoxicating orgies, its dark brother would come and turn the feast into slaughter. Music would drown in malicious magic and the excess of sweet wine was replaced by ancient fury and blood.
