    Hey everyone,

Sorry for the long break -- but I've got good news! My blog, ctrl+Paint, is finally ready! It's full of video tutorials -- with new ones coming out every Tuesday and Thursday.

The videos are aimed at getting beginners started - but there's plenty of info for those that are more familiar with photoshop. I hope you like the videos, and would love to get requests for future content.

    Enjoy!

    ctrlPaint.com

UPDATE: I forgot to mention, starting today (march 7th) I'm a guest writer for LifeHacker.com (awesome blog), doing a five day "digital painting 101" series. I'll put the link here once it goes live. Come on by and help me battle the trolls in the comment section!

Really good stuff man, I love what your doing here.
I really liked the tutorial about the mech thumbnails and doing up a series of shapes and objects and then pulling them together. Seems like a pretty sweet idea.
Definitely gonna have to try that.

Thanks for posting! Keep up the good work.

    Very nice, thank you!
For those of us who do not have photoshop, will some of those painting techniques still apply? (I've got Paint Tool Sai)

Looks like a great site you've set up, only watched a couple vids so far, but have already learnt some new things. Thanks for putting in all the effort for this!

Matt! zomg.. had this blog existed when I started a few years ago.. oh man how much easier that struggle would've been have yet to see the vids, though it looks clean and fresh. Comprehensive and easy to use.

    Nice work!

Here are some fantasy enviros for you all. I know, I know, some of them are old and the dragon is unfinished. I like to occasionally bring out older pieces and touch them up a bit. In this case, I worked out the color palettes a bit and made them more presentable. Bottom line: I've been extremely busy with the blog launch and contract work, so my personal art time is a bit limited

That last piece is amazingly interesting. Is there any videos where you go through how you go about painting from start to finish? I have a hard time knowing when to move on in the next step when I paint in photoshop.
Would be interesting to see how you go about coloring, layering, thoughts on design etc.

    Great work as always anyhow!

    Cheers
    Arvid
