Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
I've been member here for a while, but not used the forum at all. As I've lost my old job I'm returning to illustration. A lot has happened in the 10 years I've been gone. For sure! So now I'm reconfiguring for the digital media.
Strong line and painterly form... not working too well together I guess.
Pencil drawing scanned, then turned and digitally enhanced. 90 min job.
Interessting stuff ... would love to see more
Thank you Planning to make and add a drawing every day. This one took 75 minutes - drawing, scanning and slight digital manipulation.
Today's drawing. Drawing took 60 mins + 30 mins scanning and manipulation
Drawing took about 50 minutes. Scanning it and manipulating it about 30.
Wow nice portraits! I especially like the one of the lady looking down slightly, it seems to have a lot of good things working with it it. One thing I noticed though is somtimes your proportions seem a little off, like in the last one her nose is very long. Make sure you do some quick sketches of portrait proportions often, so you get used to what to look for before you start a longer drawing like that. Good start mate!
Thank you, and I hear your advice! It has to be said about that nose that the model actually has a very long one Anyway, today's drawing was more of a struggle. It took 90 minutes to draw and 60 minutes of fiddling around with in Photoshop. And I'm still not sure what I feel about it.
Struggling for three and a half hour today with this. Not too sure about it, but I hope I've learnt a couple of things from it.
Doesn't really feel finished, but it is what it is.
This started as an exercise in creating a drawing from only 6 tones of grey, with hard edge meetings between values, It changed a bit during the process though. Spent 6-7 hours on it.
seems like there are some issues with the eyes in the last one.........but in general NICE SB!
Illustration - ballpoint pen and digital
What does SB mean by the way?
Ah, thank you Another one - this one took around 2 hours.
Great work so far, your portraits are very well done. Keep up the good work!
A couple of illustrations for a magazine:
Captain Everett is lost in the jungle.
A few projects I've done lately:
"Steam Fortress" - I feel he could have added a fat leather belt over his shoulder, holding up the gun:
Stealing shamelessly from Lucian Freud, testing out combining real paint and digital paint:
Nice work! Really like your portraits and your use of colour.
Thank you I feel color is difficult, but maybe that feeling just makes me take extra care with it.
Today I made a silly little lion.
