Yoooo Edward!!! The improvement in your drawing skills is visible. Since the drawings are improved it means you are building a good foundation. I wont say stop working with colors and other experiments because i understand they are expressive pieces that keeps the fun flowing. Once again it is proved that hard work pays off. Keep up the great work. Still keep thinking up everything as composed of the basic simple masses.

I must say I am quiet envious of the amount of work you seem to produce in a period of time... and still have time to work. flicking through your sketchbook you can clearly seen you have improved

    Yo Edward =)

    Work hard =)

    Work hard hard hard =)

Do the thing that is hardest first... if you fail, you're getting there =) Then try it again. Then try it again till it works.

That process really does work; you know it does because Robert C. showed that to you =)

Good luck and here's to more improvement =)

Man I can tell this is going to be one of those sketchbooks on CA that grew out of nothing into something outstanding! You're doing great progress!
Focus on structure and keep pushing forward, man.

    so many things happening

the last photo study is very clean, the shading is very light and the result is very beautiful, but something tickles me. the lit part of her head: to the edge it should have a little of shading, value darken when the form turn.

Not much this week. Days seem to be blending into one another. Also went to Stonehenge this weekend (it's a Pagan monument here in the UK if you don't know), now I feel some kind of weirdness after... =(

    hey, not so bad...
I like the upper portraite, it looks so smooooth... how you do that?
my faces looks very sketch-like all the time, maybe because I blend the colours manually...don't know

the last pose (bottom right) looks really weird...

    Non-people update =)

jablar - It's nothing special really, I switch my brush to 50% opacity and then draw subtler shifts in value.

    Cake for SMILEFACE =)

Edwardddd!!!!!!! Mate you are keeping up like crazy and improving . Your later studies show that. Great values and attention. The knowledge will keep adding to your imagination stuff since you allow yourself to do some imaginary stuff after the studies. You... just keep up !!!!And lets both keep up

When you're doing those figure renderings in pencil (or any pencil sketches really), try to shade less randomly. What I mean by that is try and render where you want the focal point to be, rather than just like "this arm and this leg" or something. Keep up the nice volume of work!

I heard that a big group of innocent civilians disappeared last
week near Stonehenge. I got instantly upset, and got a bit frightened
that you were in that group, but luckily not. Another group came back,
but they were never the same, weird things started to happen to them.
I like the way you go nasty with the eyes of your portraits, makes them
look so alive. Blasterful job. Your head drawings got quite a bit better,
still need some proportion fixes here and there. When you draw and paint
fruit, try to meditate inbetween. I read about that combination on the internet,
and it says that can fully enhance your mind capabilities. Is Avengers the movie
with Steven Seagal and Danny De Vito? Cause I watched something very
similar and deeply disturbing. You are rolling good lately, and I love
the way you are heading. Keep it up instead of down.

    hey, buddy
nice still life, cool colours, but missing some more detailed shadows, it makes the picture flat a bit...
the eye study in your last post is great, the eyebrow looks too much rounded to me, was there some reference ?

Hey =) Studies from last day or so. Focusing on how not to suck so much.. eek =( My form needs improving boatloads, specifically from mind, so going to push for that if I’m ever going to have any hope of doing something decent.

Anyone have any movie recommendations? Thx’s =)

Watched Apocalypto last night, creepy movie, but really enjoyed it =)

Also, quick question, do you prefer a drawing on a grey or white background? Your thoughts? Thx's.
