Great stuff happening here my friend! Your linework and values have improved quite a bit and the 3d stuff is pretty awesome as well. When painting you may want to paint more attention to your value design. Try to simplify it more into bigger value shapes and put the most contrast on your focal points. Keep it up!
Been inspired by Disney stuff lately, mostly for 'shading' and line practice, so you may notice a character in almost every study, lol =) One of the great unexpected benefits of being unemployed is that I can draw all day now. So can use this time to improve =)
Smileface - Lol thx's man, yip, been very inspired by Disney atm =) Thank you for the compliment on the girls, I don't think I will ever get tired of drawing girls =)
Pitchblack - Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate that. =) Been using Photoshop for about 4 years (2 years for painting). Got to get way better tho, but thank you for the encouragement =)
More progress on the painting, simplified the comp a bit, hope to try finish this rather than it being another abandoned piece...
Okay, I think the painting's pretty much done. Do you have any ideas or thoughts about it? Something need more finish/polishing or catching your eye a bit too much? I don't mind harsh critique, just be honest with me is all I ask. In return I'll give you glass slippers or critique your own work =) Also drawing studies for this week included. Cheers guys =)
Nice to see you focusing on construction with your latest posts, keep doing those and remember to practice basic shapes and such, it'll give you more confidence handling the more complicated construction of the figures. Also, think in simple shapes when shading figures as well, this will not only make the painting process easier, but you'll get more believable results as well. Keep going!
Sketches and random thoughts this week =) Been working on some new 3d but nothing much to show for it yet.
Been listening to a bit of Yoshinori Sunahara =) Family coming over this week so I fear not much is going to get done.. Cheers for now guys! =)
Some crazy stuff happened since my last update.. sheez.. dunno where to begin. Visited my friend in London and we checked out the Sargent works in the national gallery, was very inspired! Also I now got a job doing 3d modeling which is going well I think.. =) =) Best part of the job is walking through a forest every day to get to work.. very nice way to start the day =) Spent this week getting my eye in for Maya, kinda liking it lots =)
kevin_, Ricardo Robles, cgaddict, jablar - Thank you for the encouragement guys =) Hope your works are rocking! =)
My57 - Thanks for the ups man, will try my best =)
Heey =) Studies this week, not much unfortunately, not sure where the time’s gone, maybe I’m just tired, either way need to step things up!
Practicing values and perspective atm, found a cool tut on perspective drawing. Also recently started using Photoshop CS6, and I must say,
it’s delicious, I love it =) Been listening to a bit of my favourite game music, Neverwinter Nights SOU
Zou - Hey man, aww thx's man, haha, that's cool =) Thank you much for the feedback =) Cheers =)
P Sage - Aww cheers man thx's =) =) Will do =) Cheers =)
Yoooo Edward!!! The improvement in your drawing skills is visible. Since the drawings are improved it means you are building a good foundation. I wont say stop working with colors and other experiments because i understand they are expressive pieces that keeps the fun flowing. Once again it is proved that hard work pays off. Keep up the great work. Still keep thinking up everything as composed of the basic simple masses.
