    Batts Sketchbook

    Hi my name is William, just started digital paintings and joined ca not too long ago. keen on improving alottt more, hopefully my posting here can help me with useful pointers and comments.

    This is a very good start William. If you improve a lot more, you will be on par with the best concept artists in the world.

    I like the one with the sorceress and the ogre crashing through the trees. Of course, the scene would work just as well if you replaced them with a soldier and a Tyrannosaurus rex.

    I like the first one too. Since you are still starting out I will offer you a suggestion to not become too dependent on gimmicks like motion blur in the future. In my opinion even some of the better artists make the mistake of overdoing it with that stuff, and it changes the style of the image somewhat--makes it look "too digital" if that makes sense to you. Perhaps that's more of a personal preference on my part, however. Anyhow, your use of light and color to create atmosphere and depth is really nice in that future city scene.

    Dahami- thanks for the info! yes we are all here to improve! its the curse of an artist, that strive for satisfaction/perfection, the wanting to know/learn more and the long hours, oh the long hours.

    Jason- dude! c4 room is da bomb, appreciate everything you thought me so far, all the free tips and all... wish i could figure some my own maybe in a lifetime or two. you unselfish bastard!

    those are nice digital paintings, just keep it up. and would also suggest you to keep an eye on anatomy references, no matter how good you are/will be at digital painting.
