Obstfelder: Oh, that looks interesting! Thank you, I'll give it a try some time !
School assignment, some textured balls. Failed with skin and chrome, admittedly didn't try too hard with chrome. Magma was a lot of fun though! Below that is the leap-animation for the girl satyr (unfortunately sped-up again, ingame it would be slower). Will do more Loomis tomorrow .

Really digging your style. The horse in post #188 has such an elegant sense of power. I'm glad you've been posting some of your works in different stages (the horse, the animations, etc.), the studies from class, and your interpretation of the Loomis heads. They're all definitely giving me goals to strive to and some ideas for things to try and study when I get further down the road.
Really nice studies, and you're doing a lot of work here. That animation study is fantastic, it seems to be a really nice way to understand gesture. Maybe I'll try that exercise sometime.
The arm seems a bit static on the jumping one though, I try to do the same thing and my arms tend to swing forward for balance. Just a thought.
Hey thanks a lot Aaron! I'll definitely look into that, since I can't fix the stiffness of the walk-animation (I just don't have the time) I'm going to try to make the leap and attack more dynamic and natural-looking.
I know it's far from perfect, sadly we don't have enough time to make it so. The spear was drawn by my teammate, I had to adjust the arm to add it into the animation which I'm not happy about. Overall things are going to be rushed for the project. I really just want to see it done, if it looks even half decent and we get a good enough grade I'll be happy ._.
Had to come up with a way to make the girl "aim", as the player can hold down the mouse button and choose both direction and force for the spear. Didn't realize until this point that she was holding the spear in a bit of an inconvenient way so I had to find a way to turn her hand around. So a toss it was.
Also, a pig and a rat. The hog is neutral, the rat-like creature the first enemy (oh so terribly original, I know lol).
Now this is why I like coming in here, every time I do there is something that makes me stop and go, "WOW" now that's a good idea! Those textured balls are brilliant for sticking in the shading and lighting sticky in the WIP section of the forums, can I do some for there please! can I! Pleeeeese!! LOL
Like the run cycle as well though it is just a little upright, I feel she needs to be leaning forwards more but not as far as a sprinter just a little more is all. Too much and she will look like she is starting a fall.
Bad news on the spear anim too my mate and that is the thumb should be facing to the back of the spear for a throw. With the arm facing that way there will be no energy to the throw and it wont look convincing, especially with the last frame you have shown her arm would be on the verge of breaking like that.............. sorry!
all the best with the artwork my mate and sorry to bring it down a tad but I know that you would rather know than not know.
Oh wow Lightship you're totally right on that thumb! I actually struck the pose myself, how could I have missed that? Haha thanks for that catch, I'll be sure to fix it!
I'm aware that the run cycle is pretty shitty and could be improved in so many ways, but we just don't have the time for it (the project ends in like two and a half week from now).
A bit of crit of the skin sphere, though take it with a grain of salt as my own skills aren't exactly stellar.
There is a bit of discontinuity between the type of skin you painted and the type that would appear on a ball of flesh like that. The type of skin you painted has small, pronounced veins which have frequent twisting/ranching and are a fairly distinct blue, implying that they are small and very close to the surface, with the skin thin/very low fat in that area. Skin like that isn't likely to be found on a fairly thick piece of flesh like the sphere, which would have veins of a much more muted blue, with gentler curves and less frequent branching. Also skin/flesh, and especially thin flesh, has quite a bit of subsurface scattering, and so the addition of a little would really help to sell it as skin. Even smooth skin has a very fine cracked pattern running across it, and adding it is a quick way to make it look more realistic (also varying the scale/intensity of the texture may be a good way to distinguish the softer/more sensitive from more durable areas of a character/creature, like the difference between the soft inner side of the arm and the tougher outer side)
Keep posting more stuff
Simply love the picture in post 256.

Wow, really nice stuff here, thanks for sharing!
Uhh let's see, some things I've been doing! Haven't had time for too much since I'm in the middle of my internship but I'm trying to fit as many drawing hours into my week as I can :> (sorry for the size of some of them, I'm too lazy to make them all smaller).
(to be colored)
(to be finished; working on this together with a friend, we're sending the file back and forth :>)

Aww yeah, it's awesome to see you here! Big fan of your creature designs and anthros. You have such a great sense of anatomy.
