Hey Lhune, you're back!, how goes (did) the internship go?

I'm liking the goat monster portrait.

Ah yes... "the one who draws goats"

Nice battle going on in the top one--the creativity and the colors are really fun to look at. Keep trying to push those lines of action... for instance... in the two characters in the upper right... some more bending of the spine and so forth would really add some energy as well as would pulling out some of your shapes more.

    Great work!

Hey man! Thank you for stopping by and shedding some words of wisdom, much appreciated. First and foremost HoN! Won me right there. The colour, composition, linework are all working very nicely together. I especially like the Rift Wars piece, good representation as well . Keep up the great work man!

Flashback: Heya! Oh man I've been back for some time haha, the internship was almost a year ago now! It went good though, they were happy and I learned a lot . Thanks!

Mrkolsyrad: Thank you very much, appreciated!

p sage: Heyyyy I don't draw that many goats? o.o Perhaps you're just seeing them everywhere! Thanks a lot and you're totally right about the dynamics, it's something I really need to work on.

ancientdrake: No problem and thanks for dropping by here in return!

Lhune these are just too precious.
    A little bit of critique.
Your human poses seem stiff compared to your animal drawings, but only when they are not heavily foreshortened. Especially the second picture of #331. If you pushed it just a little I think your figures would have that spark in the poses that your animals protray.
Try seeing your humans with more arches and exaggerate a little. You are more than qualified, especially with the skill you have.

http://lanternlovers.deviantart.com/...rial-375614264 I think this tutorial on DA explains what I am trying to say.

Your concepts and animal drawings, humanoid and anthro concepts are just simply amazing and innovative. I love that COW piece and your art instills a sense of wonder.

If it isn't so much to ask, I would like to see your process of environments and how you studied them?

    Sketchbook

I am going to be amazing! .

Oh my goodness. I saw your "Evergreen Giant" in the COW. And, seriously, fell in love with it. If you wanted to like, send me a poster of it, I would like, love it forever and ever. Just saying. It is so fantastical, and something I want to be able to think of. I am currently trying to improve my imagination. Any tips?

Marlo: Thanks, you are absolutely right and thanks a lot for the link! I'm currently doing a lot of gesture drawing to get a better feel for drawing the human body quickly, as I believe I simply spend too long fiddling with a pose and I always lose the dynamics that way. It's a matter of being just as familiar with the human body as I am with animal ones, which'll take a little while I guess but I'm working on it . I'm really not experienced in drawing environments, the few studies I've done are usually speedpaintings using unedited photographs as a reference to get a good feel for the colors and textures. That's really all I can give you haha, sorry!

warburton: Hey Warburton! Thanks a lot, really enjoy the work you do for the COWS . Keep up the good work yourself!

AdrienneRose: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed that piece! You can download a larger version from here if you like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2vg5dbmvnd0ra0f/bigsized.jpg .

    ----

I've done some studies and sketches but they're all scattered across my various art directories (and I'm lazy) so here's some recent pieces I've done for S2Games and a personal piece (the portrait) .

    Thanks rumpenstiltzkin!

Tried my hands at the Daily Spitpaint on Facebook (30-minute speedpainting group). Lots of fun, I intend to keep doing these whenever I find the time. The brief this time was "eagle warrior", the first was just experimentation, the second was more or less a study.

I saw the Age of wonders III pre-order, awesome. I like how most of your painting emphasize the eyes.

Thanks guys! Will you be playing AoW III FlashBack?

    ---

A 1,5 hour speedpainting I did yesterday of someone's character. Everything kind of clicked with this one, it was fun.
