This image is a bit too big to do a good crit Henry. But from what I saw I would increase your contrast, especially in the folds and creases. And a few hard edge strokes on the face, hands, pads and feet would also help. Overall the image is well rendered. Nice!

Other then the knee pads, there isn't anything to let us know that this character is military recon.

Yeah, u got a point. Now that i think of it, it also does look like a punk or a rogue in the desert.

Looks good, but it's TOO BIG for me to see the whole picture, so I can't give you a very helpful crit. Besides at this close all I can see little details that serve their purpose, but look bad when you focus in on them. It's not your fault it's adobe.

His costume says stealthy to me. If he's futuristic US army recon, then give him some badges, stripes and bars and such and stuff and shit.

I agree with giving him the badges and such details. I miss a sense of structure and space to the background, because smoke and flying sand can add to the perspective.
I cant really tell if it is sand or a rock which he is standing on, maybe clearify this in the image.
The image only really had 3 different types of color, and it doesnt really look natural to me. Do some research on desert images and see what you can find of inspiration.
Its a very nice image, it just needs some more work. The pose is really good.

Hmmmm, I would like to see more colors in this piece. Sure, it's dark and red and stuff, but still include dark blues and yellows so it doesn't look uninteresting. Right now, if I saw it among other pieces, it would be forgettable..

Work on the edges and creases as mentioned, add more contrast etc.
What really stands out is the face and the lighting around it. Stay with the 'Desert Punk' aesthetic, I really like it, however I agree with adding more vibrant colors to make it more interesting.

    Overall 7.5/10.

@ Raoul Duke: yeah, sorry about the size. I actually still don't know the correct size that i can use to post here in CA. Yeah, i forgot about adding badges..

@ Luume: i only used cloud brushes for the background. I suck on creating background so i thought to just give it some patterns so that it didn't look dull, but i guess it didn't help. About the colors thing, i'm still new. I actually am very blind about color theory & stuff. I guess i'd better be making myself better at the basic first before playing around with colors.

@ Nisshoku: yeah, there're still many things for me to learn about colors

@ SekuDanba: I'm glad u liked it, & thanks for the input. I'll keep that in mind
