Nice updates recently. The transparency of the dragon's wings in the piece before last is awesome, really well executed image mate. As for the last one, I think the composition could be tightened up a bit - the 2 main characters are dark on a dark mass, so their silhouettes aren't as defined and my eye tends to wander away from them. Also theres a line created by following the mecha's sword in the centre, to the creature with the open mouth, to the axe held by the character to the right and then the sword which leads me right off the image.

Heading for awesome! The edges and lighting on the guy are very nice, but the angle looks off. Like he's looking sidelong the crowd of monsters. Just a thought
I'm curious how the end result turns out! keep it up!

Fair comment mate! I'll be turning me attention to the protagonists once I resolve the demonic throng. Lots of fun this one and sooooo many more characters than I've dealt with before! Loving it!

A nice three day bank holiday drinking, sleeping and reading. So now back to the never ending painting... Starting to resolve the main characters now and experiment with the cloak. Will be a fair bit of battle damage too and light sources from his power source and sparking where damaged. Will try not to make it too busy and messy... Christ...

the piece is already stunning, but there are some things bothering me. the cloak just doesn't click - on a character like that i would like to see a heavy, almost armorlike cloak (also red doesnt work). try adding some atmosphere to the chars in the back. and the last thing - right left corner looks empty ;d oh and the skies maybe, something missing there too ;d other than that this is great, so is ur whole sketchbook. keep up the good work, cheers!

You really are a render junkie

Nice stuff, like several of the things in the background as the dragon that you have added - turned out well. (that said the demon to the right the third in the lower row from the right both look a bit strange )

Nice, you've addressed load of issues in the update of the face-off illo. Feels way more cohesive already!
Looking at the step by step of that sketch and I can't get my head around it, it's almost the polar opposite of my preferred working method which makes it fascinating to me

Thanks man! I think the problem with the last one is I was trying to do too much too soon and it was no longer fun. This one was heaps of fun as intially I was just poking at it for 20mins at time between things but it just happened very naturally

That one is truly badass. Relatively quick work with awesome results.
Maybe I´m seeing too many pure blacks in the shadows, my 2 cents :

And look at those textures...oh, man. I bet you just painted them in, didn`t you? Showoff

As for the last piece - maybe put the knight in a bit more startled and defensive posture? Like "Whoa, what the F#&$@& ???!!!" you know, and the demons is all like "Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur" :3

Push it further, you still have 3 days left!
