    The thread of Mucky88's music!

Two songs in one day, wow. I wrote this in a little over an hour. It's a very dark, brooding piece. Turn up the bass, and make sure you review and vote. The more votes I get, the more exposure I get. ...If I can make top 5, I'll gain thousands of listeners every day, so help me out and don't ignore this. Thank you for your time.

PS - If you decide to respond in this thread, please give me a link to your sketchbooks and whatnot. I've noticed some people have their own websites and such, and I'm a sucker for sketchbooks. I don't know why.

Am I posting too many original songs? I dunno. Here's another.
While i personally dont mind i can see why others might. Given your pace it would probably be a good idea to keep updating the same thread like Muz said.
Also, people who like your stuff wont have to search your old posts to find your other songs.

    No way!

post them all in one thread....
    Yes, yes definitely agree!

I'd almost say start a sketchbook and post every new song and wip in it but I think a regularly updated thread in the lounge would be probably best idea.

    Keep rocking dude

Just a bump for more listens. It's been a while since I made anything new, so sorry about that. I've been busy.

I've never embedded a video before, hope this works...

    <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IAe5lEGgetI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IAe5lEGgetI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

EDIT: I guess not...Can somebody help me? I suck at this sort of thing. I'd like my Youtube vids embedded because I don't think people wanna take the time to follow links.

Hey buddy - it's a lot easier than you may think!

see here this YouTube url of awesomeness I want to share right?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH7xA61rdg4&feature=sub

All you need to do is copy the characters after 'v=' and before any '&featured' etc - A little trial and error to get used to it but I'm sure you'll do ok

All you need to do then is put [ yt ] [ /yt ] either side (without the spaces)

So it should look like this: [ yt]YH7xA61rdg4[ /yt] (without the spaces)

I think the bit for yours is 'IAe5lEGgetI'

    Testing:

btw you should rename this thread again as it's difficult to see and not very interesting to have 'my music' followed by '(renamed thread)'

I would say it should be called 'The awesomeness that is Mucky88's thread of Music!!'

but maybe something like 'The thread of Mucky88's music!' would work better

I’m not a great fan of synthesized music, but these could be so much better with real guitars and a more varied drum beat. I'd like two leads holding the melody and one holding the long notes that should be there while the other continues.

Well, I don't think about these kinds of things when I'm making them. Almost every song I've made, I've made drunk. I mean really drunk. I'll wake up in the morning and go "What did I do last night? Oh, a new song. I'll have a listen." Yeah...My life is really cool.

That's what makes Mucky88's music what it is - that it's electronic / synthesised! and it fits really well into the genre it's intended for.

I don't want to overreact Black Spot but your statement irritated me as it's a bit like me walking up to a folk band and saying 'I don't like folk music - your songs would be much better as rock...' (for the record I'm into almost every genre of music)

I guess what you were kinda saying was 'despite me not being into this kind of stuff it'd be cool to hear it with real instruments!'

And I'm a Marine. I live in a tiny room. I'd love to have a full sized keyboard but there's just no space. I wouldn't have anywhere to put it if I deployed or something. But I suppose a keyboard would still classify as synth. Shruggies.

I wanted to bump this with something really kickass AND visually art related (my music isn't really art), so I chose this. It was made with many paintings as the frames, and I get kinda emotional every time the dove turns into Freddie.

That's it. I'm sorry if I came over rude. I just wanted it with more depth, but it's hard to do that with one person. I could hear it in my head, so it might be possible for another band to see the potential.

    Niiiiiiice :rocking: cool tune dude!

Sorry can't help getting all creative when I listen to your music as I used to make quite a bit of progressive melodic trance myself - suggestion!: possibly try a breakdown to just that melody synth hitting some stirring notes about 1-1.5 mins in and then an epic build up with clean snare/toms to a powerful reintroduction of the beat and other instruments.

Edit: Ahaha - just read your youtube description for this and you mention you left out a breakdown for a reason - doh sorry dude!

Loving it though - hope you don't mind me downloading your tunes to listen to

It's not being received very well due to things I did purposefully. I left the breakdown out because it's being used in a film series as background music. There was no reason to make a full feature song, but I guess that's what I should do if I ever put them out like that. Or maybe explain somehow. I dunno.
