razor leaf..please remember this is an environment......

To see the world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.

    thanks Joey-B

Aston - In my opinion, your colors are too muddy and you need to contrast the soft edges with hard ones. Your idea is good and I hope you stick with it. As for the book fluttering like butterflies, that is not being communicated in your rendition of the books. Also, I would limit your composition to a triangle and nix heavy/detailed cloud formations outside of it.

Also, I just wanted to share a detailing tip. Open an image in PS and select 'New View for ...", arrange them side by side. When you zoom one and work closeup the other will update automatically after the brush stroke. This prevents you from having to zoom in, paint, zoom out, repeat.

I've never done an environment of the week before, but I'll take a stab at it. I don't know if I'll be able to complete it in time as I'm starting late.

Just a question though, what is this icon that is required, can you explain it more?

The icon is a 150x150 pixel thumbnail or detail of your final image, placed beside your name in the vote so that people have a visual reminder of which painting was yours. (For some reason you need to host it externally rather than as an attachment.)

the reasoning behind the outside hosting, as I have explained before, is that I cannot repost an image attachment on ca. so for me to use a ca attached Icons I'd have to rehost them all myself or change allthe title and reupload to ca One at a time using the attachment manager which , would be at the least slow,at the most infuriating. so instead I make my life easier adn ask that you do it. It is alos a lovely test of whiether you can follow directions.

First time entering EOW, and starting a bit late - I still have a lot to do on this, but I'm hoping to make the deadline!
There's going to be much more of a background in behind the henge, and a ring of smaller standing books encircling it - still undecided between b&w and color.

That's really gorgeous, although it seems quite distorted. Is the central pillar intended to be vertical? Even with a wide-angle lens, near the center of the picture the table and vertical column would be perpendicular.

I like yours Dannenberg .... it has a kindof fairy-tale feel to it.

And the drama in yours Tonic really draws you in, nice concept.

Ookchk yours is nicely rendered but I'm not really getting a "book" sense from it, its more techno-book than literary book hahaha

dear EOW folks .I don't know if any thing will come of it. But I am talking to my local public library about bringing some reality to this contest. I will see wht comes of it .. but I am pursuing making this a showing opportunity. for the winner's work. assuming , of course that you were willing. I would, of course need a hi res file, and permission for the one time use of your image. Which would absolute ly be credited to you for author ship, and CA for the venue for the creation. seems like an every one wins situtuation to me. I would bear the printing of a limited very small run(Im thinking 5) actually I would hit a local art computer lab for the donation.

So if this sounds good.... make em shiny and pretty folks!

Yes comments, if I would have had more time to polish my idea I would be totally down. Just finished some midterms, and had only a day to work on it like mad.

That would be pretty cool Chaos. Librarys always seem keen to display local artwork. Where is your library? I would love to see something of mine printed and displayed (I would polish it up first though)
