In response to the thread about the harmless big guys, here's one about tiny critters that can utterly destroy you.

I think that can be summarized as "Australia's out to kill you."

I think i can fairly confidently say after reading that article and the one i posted earlier about giant creatures, that i am far too much of a pussy to even set foot in Australia.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

I'm happy I'm not the only one to realize that, ArtZealot As much as I love the climate zones around the equator, the fauna loves it more and won't give it away

The scariest part of that article was that the author thinks we actually drink Fosters beer down here

that and he forgot to include the other lil jellyfish bastard we have called an irukandji. so small but so evil - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irukandji_jellyfish

I'd be more afraid of the Irukandji than the others. That sucker's so small to see compared to the others. For the other I can at least see them and get the hell out.
