Uncle Jed's Rolling Roadshow
Hey everybody it's your old friend Jedmo. You might remember me from my fledgling days in the hallowed halls of the Conceptart.org NextGen Atelier. It's been quite some time since I left the nest and the time has come for me to jump back on to the forums with a large ongoing project.
Starting in a couple days (October 1st, 2009) I will be leaving my current home here in Seattle and riding my bicycle south. All the way south to Tierra Del Fuego in southern Argentina. My intention is to travel North and South America, creating a visual record of the journey and sharing it with you guys through this thread and a blog ( http://www.dondeestajames.com ). It will be a voyage of self discovery and artistic growth and I very much look forward to sharing it with this community.
Attached you will find a map that shows something of my intended route (it is obviously quite inexact) as well as some stuff from my sketchbooks that will give you an idea of what you might see from me in the coming months/years.Ars Longa, Vita Brevis

Hey, from what i can see, you are a skilled artist, and this little trip thing sounds cool, and probly a reli good experience, but a bicycle? really? surely there is an easier way to get around?
i hope your trip goes well and i will re-visint your SB to see your progress.

Hey guys. Well I made it to San Francisco. It's been hard to get in the swing of making work on the road. Striking a balance between riding and drawing and painting has been dificult. But I managed to make a few things. And here they are. Just over 1000 miles down. More to go. Anyway, enjoy.Ars Longa, Vita Brevis

Thanks for checking in guys. I'm glad you guys are liking what I'm up to. I'm now in San Luis Obispo, just around 200 miles north of LA. Here's a couple of pen sketches from the past couple days. I have some color work as well but I wasn't able to get a good shot of it for this post so maybe when I get to LA. It's a small update I know but, as always, thanks for looking.Ars Longa, Vita Brevis
