texahol's technique works for sure for you! I say take it and expand on it, make it your own until you are totally comfortable!

Looks really good, and you're improving a lot.

Just keep this up, I hope to see you go real far in the future buddy

    Krato Will try, thanks.

    DSmith Thanks buddy.

lilnebo Nebo! Thanks, and the same to you!

Been waaay to long since I last updated. It's been mostly pencil studies recently and I'm too lazy to take photos of that stuff.

Thought I'd post some recent digital stuff. A whole bunch of studies, doodles and sketches.

Your studies are going very well mate!!!I see you are doing a nice blocking of colors and values specially when you also render the outlines.
I think you just need to keep up studying them cause you are on the right track!!
    keep up the good work

    Great amount of studies
Something i find very usefull when doing value studies is to start with a 50% gray background, that way the midtones are already established.
    Keep it up!

    kingkostas Thanks!

Braintree Yeah I need to stop painting on white backgrounds. Thanks for the reminder.

Krato Yeap really need to get started with textures and stuff.

Ugh todays studies are sloppy and ugly. I tried using some texture brushes. It's hard lol

really cool sketchbook. Thoroughly enjoying your figure studies and watching your progress!

Seems like you have a good grasp of value and color, but I'm yearning to see some more detail in your studies! : )

Good-looking stuff, only critique is watch saturation and make sure you don't over-saturate too many things and I think that should push you in the right direction, also watch edges. I'd suggest doing more grayscale studies before doing color, but I guess color is hard to resist huh : 3

Excellent updates. I was going to comment that your lighter values are a bit too bright on the figures, but you seem to have gotten a much better handle of them now. Keep it up!

I think your studies are paying off a great deal; your faces are coming along nicely and your color choices are nice as well; I think if you feel like your faces need work then you should do a few pages of head studies from all different angles and see how that helps. Keep up the great work

Thanks jeremy. I found a great image today of a face from all kinds of angles. I'll see if I can do some studies of it tomorrow.

So waht have we got here...two enviros , one from imagination. Nood studies and a creepy selfportrait. Damn my imagination stuff is seriously lacking.
