Thanks guys, marco; not really, maybe subconsciously because I did play it when it came out
Here's another thing I painted on yesturday and today. I'm doing a fair bit of experimenting on these latest paintings, which is fun.

I think one of the main issues is how washed out your colors look.
There's too much gray and you don't use very strong values in the recent pieces either. Try not to blend out everything and be more bold with color.
The studies remain fantastic!

Nice studying through and through. The hands are well executed. I'm not a color expert, but I would agree with the person who said stronger colors could be used (or something like that). Yeah, cool stuff. Check ya later!!

ooooh I love the dragon and the lava monster. Very intense.
Hi alexson! Post 1025 is looking sweet, definitely the best piece on this page.
Perhaps start to pay more attention to your edges? The jawbone of the pirate on the top of the page looks pretty thin because of the abrupt value change. In the post 1029, the outline of the 3rd woman's face could use some edge treatment... Her forehead and the bridge of her nose - and especially the connecting curve between the two - look very flat. However, the bottom of her nose and the lips are very well painted, I think. On the 2nd woman study I would soften the edges of her neck and the area where her cheek meets the hair (on the left side).
I really like the line drawings in the same post. Keep updating dude!
Your works really taking an evolution since the last time I stopped by here man.
Always inspiring to see the progression people can make.
Not really good at crits haha just gonna say keep having fun and always look to learn and grow!
sketchbook updated October 6th
Nice updates. I feel that you can push your imaginative work even further if you added a stronger light source. Many of your pieces are mostly mid-values.
The last portrait for example could really use some highlights and darker shadows. The last work in post #980 is a good example of a stronger lightsource.
I also noticed that there's little colour variation in your imaginative work, it would be nice to see the colour shifts that are present in your studies implemented in your own work.
Keep it up!
Whoah, love your studies and sketchbook at all. I hope that gun from post #1035 isn't from life Keep posting.
Great digital work Alexson, there is improvement in every piece. Keep it up!

Here's a study.
And the something to try to apply it.
I started doing some quick matte painting, I thought it would be fun to try it out.
dude, it's crazy how your stuff from observation are great, but your stuff from imagination lacks of realism, like there is no harmony in your paintings ! i think you should study a bit more composition, as well as trying to work on getting the main values and light right before adding details !! keep it up !!
