Thanks for dropping by my sketchbook.
    You're improving all the time!
On your newest painting, the nose and mouth are have the same perspective, but the eyes don't seem to match up. The eye on our right is too far up. By adjusting this, I think it would improve the piece very easily.
Nice leg anatomy studies. I have problems with legs, I should do that hehe.
A few of your paintings lack texture, making them look a bit 'airbrushy'. But this could be a look you are after.
Nice job though, keep up the fun.

FraserMcT: Thank you for the feedback, I feel I often have problems with the eyes, and about textures I know what you are saying. It's something I've been messing around with and trying to get the hang of.

Updating this less frequently nowadays, cause most of what I am doing is just stydies and I don't think they are very interesting to post. Here is two figure studys tough, and a personal piece I started. Any comment on it would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey Alexson, I really liked alot of your facial studies that you've done in photoshop and it's great to see some nice anatomy studies. The only advice I can give you is to keep testing yourself and don't loose that desire to get yourself to where you want to be in the future.

My favourite piece was the second image of '13' and I know that piece could look even better with some more work on it adding value and detail.

Also which course are you doing on schoolism as I've recently visited that website and found it interesting but am undecided what a good course to choose would be.

    Keep it up, Chris.

What's all this lead doing on my paper?

himself: Thanks a lot man, about my motivation I set a goal for myself this year that I will be working fulltime as a freelance artist by the end of 2010 and that is what keeps me going.
I took the PSP course with Bobby Chiu on schoolism and I really liked it, I learned alot. For someone that is somewhat new to PSP I would definetly recommend it.

ninjacat11: Thanks bro I'm glad you like it.

You're doing some intense studies. And I like what I see quite a bit. Only thing I would like to see is some looser sketches every now and then. Although, I myself need to do more finish pieces haha. Any way, good stuff, can't wait for more dude

Your doing great dude. Quite some progress since you started this thread!

Id also like to see more loose stuff. Dont treat everything as a finished piece. Your not at that level yet, so try not to obsess about that stuff. Allow yourself to fail, experiment, and youll make even more progress. It feels like you will get stuck in your confort zone if your not careful.

    Keep it up mate!

I think your color portraits are really good in the proportions and lighter areas. Maybe some of the problem with black-looking shadows is because you do some portraits from pictures? Photos just can't capture the full range of values and color you get IRL. Maybe try some self-portraits using a mirror, or a cooperating friend? Looking at your still-lifes, I think you are becoming more aware of reflected light and various colors in the shadows. Use those skills!

palladium - Thank you, I think I have problems keeping it loose. I get caught in the details to easily. Thank you for the critique.
krel - Thanks! I don't think I really have a comfort zone yet, everything is uncomfortable so far hehe but I understand what you mean!
Aqualeot - Thanks man! I do some still lifes of fruit and other lame stuff to practice my color but some living stuff would be cool too I will try to get it done somehow, can defenetly do some self portraits with a mirror. Thanks!

Nice studies you have here. There's a little stiffness in the brushwork, but that'll come out with a little practice i'm sure.

Another character sketch, sorry if the anatomy is a bit off I didn't use any reference. Was influenced by the music video by Ida Corr and some dude "Let me think about it". Hot girls in afros and sunglasses
