Concept: Fookin' Proon
In the future, is it possible for insects to be able to swim? Perhaps a fish could fly?
Or maybe, somehow their genes would mix and they'd be a wonderful creature...or not?

Concept: Aca Sindra
The Aca Sindra is a little insect that lives in the branches of large jungle trees. High up, close to the sun from which it gathers its energy. Its leaf-like charactirsitcs provide excellent camouflage against its enemies. These little creatures may look dangerous, however they are completely harmless. It's primairy food source is light. The Aca Sindra is bipedal and moves around only using its 2 legs. They also have 2 additional long arms to improve their climbing capabilities even more. Locals refere to these creatures as green devils, because when viewed from a distance their faces look pretty darn evil.

Concept: Gargant Weevil
The Gargant Weevil, known for its voracious hunger for human bone marrow. Ranging anywhere from 4 to 9 feet tall, these creatures burrow beneath human settlements and camps, eager to impale its hapless victim from the ground below. A terrifying creature that is incredibly difficult to kill, thanks to the hardened plates that cover its body, known to be harder than steel and almost impenetrable.

Concept: Twig Hopper
This small insect, which to the order Orthoptera, hops amongst the twigs of a tree and feeds upon leaves and moss. It has adapted a bipedal posture with three digits on each limb, allowing it to easily grasp and manipulate food. Its middle limbs have become short and nearly vestigial, but are occasionally used as weapons or used in climbing. The Twig Hopper is very skittish and will typically leap away when startled.

Concept: Slaying Mantis
AS the name may suggest the Slaying Mantis is closely related to the Katydid family of insects. It has large sharp scythe like arms that slice and dice it's prey. It is extremely fast and agile and with it's powerful hind legs can leap great distances.

Concept: Kth' r'all
The size and weight of a large man, the worker Kth' r'all is usually seen walking the perimeter of the hive. They possess a rudimentary intelligence in normal circumstances, but any of the Kth' r'all workers can be telepathically controlled by their Queen. When under control of the Hive Queen a worker's antennae vibrate so fast as to be invisible. Caution must be exercised when encountering a Queen's worker Avatar. A typical Hive Queen possesses a Type III intelligence, rivaling that of a Strategic AI or Starship Intellect Core. Assume that any contact you have with a Hive Queen Avatar is a prelude to deception or misdirection. Retreat if possible, and offer no information, no matter how trivial it may seem to you.
Thanks a lot for everyone that offered input in the WIP thread. I think I learned a lot while working on this. For one, I believe I'll work in color from the start. I'm still learning how to digitally paint and I've been concentrating on black and white for awhile, so I was hamstrung when time came to add color.
If anyone has any advice or comments I'd love to hear them.

Concept: Shield Walker
Shield walkers live in hive like societies and have some semi-psychic connection to hive-mates allowing complex tactical behaviours to be utilised in defense of the nest and expansion of territory. Their robust shell is ideally suited to charging down foes and has defensive spikes to deter flanking attacks. Some ritual-esque behaviour involving the shell has been observed as these creatures fight for social status among the group, suggesting a certain level of intelligence. The smaller of the 2 sets of arms is used for feeding, the larger for fighting or waving about during mating rituals. They also have a fleshy nubbin used for spreading pheromones around the place. The pheromone spreading is said to be a rather revolting sight to behold!

Concept: Swan Bug
The granite marshes of Mahak were settled by a nomadic people - known as the Yed - some 1500 years ago. Though naturally a hardy race, it was only though their domestication of the Swan bug that they were able to survive in this unforgiving territory, using the large, non-predatory animals as load- and water-carriers and of course as a major foodsource - although the meat is far too tough to eat for those unaccustomed. The Yed also harvest the spines of the bugs' filament-like 'tusks' (actually overgrown mouthparts which the males use in mating displays) for tools and crafts, and for home building. The animals are traditionally kept and tended to by family heads, and prized bugs are occasionally given as dowries or as gifts between tribes.

Concept: Rylath Stalker
The human colony on Rylath was not aware of the Stalker until larger hive cities began to form. Even then, their existence was only alluded to in unreliable secondhand stories. A soft clicking sound and two haunting yellow eyes were always included.
Wide spread knowledge was eventually obtained when a few specimens were caught, and the creature's features and behavior shown to the people. The Stalker seems to supplement it's diet with human refuse. Their presents near waste centers and run down areas is much greater than any other location. The average Stalker grows to around five feet in height, feeds on garbage and smaller scavenging animals, and is usually skittish. It is also a nocturnal species, and travels in dispersed groups.
To the general public they are an ignored nuisance. But stories have begun to spread, especially in the underhives of larger, man hunting Stalkers. Stories of drifters being dragged into open sewer vents, piles of bones in alleyways, and worse are whispered in dingy bars. Since the discovery of these creatures, the occurrence of missing children has drastically increased.
What was once only heard of in stories, has become a disturbingly common occurrence.
Bright yellow eyes staring out from the dark, watching, almost... stalking.

The cromatick is the size of a small dog, eats small dogs and smells like, well...
One is advised to keep small yipping dogs away from the cromaticks.
...or maybe as close to them as possible...
The word ‘anarchy’ comes from the ancient Greek αναρχία in which αν meant ‘without’ and αρχία meant first a military ‘leader’ and then ‘ruler’. Anarchist society is one ‘without rulers’: a classless, non-hierarchical society.

You need people like me so you can point your grubby fingers and say, "That's the bad guy.""
