    Forest Battle - video tutorial

Hey folks, just wanted to share with you a video tutorial I completed recently demonstrating the entire creation process of the illustration below. First time creating one of these so feel free to leave any suggestions for improvement.

    Voice narration included
    Movie format - .mov (Quicktime)(1280x720)
Total real time of painting- 9hrs
    video run-time- 110mins

[edit] Just noticed the sound quality was a little poor in the video, so I went ahead and re-produced it increasing the volume a bit and getting rid of all the static noise in the background. If some folks were having troubles hearing some areas feel free to re-download the newer version below.

    Very well done illustration.

Altho don't you find the pose of the uruk hai on the right beeing wrong to the action that's going in there? Well it's a good thing to never aproach your enemy with your back exposed, especially when the opposite team has an archer.
The most weird thing about him is the fact, that he's having few arrows on the right side of his body while the archer lady stays on far left, if he somehow turned away after he got shot, his pose looks too much static to tell it to the viewer, hope my observation will help you on the next piece, cheers.

    Now going to watch it.

P.S General tip: There are alot of people outside of states watching theese kind of tutorials, huge mass don't speak english very well. Basicly what i'm trying to say, when making a tutorial like this speak much slower, you spoke too fast and often not clearly.

Wow! that is really useful! thank you very much. Hopefully this will help me alot. I've allways started off like this, but never finished due to how insecure I become of how to continue it.
By the way, do you think you maby would share your brush set?

This is a great tutorial and it really helps me out alot

The only thing I get stuck on when I try to draw with this startup, is the brushes for grass and trees, those are not basic brushes photoshop? Do you have any resource for those brushes or are they self made?

    thanks again

Hey guys, appreciate all the feedback/comments. Sorry, haven't been checking these forums to often, but for those who were interested in the brush pack I was using here's a link to it http://www.filefront.com/14568217/PO-brushpack.zip/ . Most people seemed interested in the fur/chain-mail brush so I put them as the first two brushes in the pack to make them easier to find.

    Happy Holidays

    Smile Video Tutorial

Thanks so much for this. I am pretty new to this site and drawing and painting in general so finding this place has been amazing. Artists who keep spreading their knowledge and good vibes just make it amazing for inexperienced artists who are hungry to learn. Getting to look at artists processes via video is extremely helpful. Any insight and information that helps me grow and learn is valuable and appreciated. I am going to take a look at this now!

first of all, let me say it's an amazing work.

secondly, on the brushes, is it safe to add these brushes to CS4?
Last week I had to go through a week of cleaning up, uninstalling and re-installing CS4 and a few .dll files simply because I added some 10-11 new brushes and another 10-11 new filters!!!

and it took me almost a week to get my comp and CS4 back to working properly again.

so you understand my caution on adding new brushes. are they compatible with CS4.

and to all others, has anyone else tried adding them with no hassles afterwards?

    Thank you again

Does anyone still have this video laying around? The link for the video is now dead, most likely due to time. I'd really appreciate a new link to the video if one exists.

Oh man, I'm really bummed that I missed this! I hope it can be made available again.

    My Sketchbook

And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.
