    IDW #111: Future Noir Jewellery

    Topic: Future Noir Jewellery II

Background: I'm going to keep the background short this time. If you don't know what Future Noir means, think of Blade Runner and similar movies. Also, wiki has something to say about the genre:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_noir

As for the jewellery, be creative. Diamonds might be a girls best friend, but so can virtual (or augmented) reality, holograms, electronic tattoo's etc. etc. Also, why limit it to girls?

    Brief:
    1. Design and draw future noir jewellery!
    2. Present the concept anyway you choose, including a character is not necessary but optional.
    3. That's it... now draw!

    Deadline: Sunday, September 20

Also, quick note for both myself and everyone else, but I promise I'll use a new banner soon. I haven't been able to make a new one with D@niel's winning entry from round 100 just yet, but should do that soon

Ooooooo....!!!!!!! I actually make jewelery (to the point of silversmithing) so this is something I can really get into. Fun, fun, fun!!!!!!

Edit: Tentative first idea. I need to think of a setting anyway for material and colour purposes.

Wip here. Not sure if I'll be putting any other little do-dadds ons. I'll have to do some experimenting. And I'm not too sure if the lights are comming across as what they are. I realized that for it to be lasers there would have to be some sort of material to refract the light enough for us to see it, so it could be mini-neon or something. C'mon people! This thread is a bit dead for a weekly!!!!

    micro-machine monocles in cast-iron styling

discerning gentlemen would be seen donning this piece of eye-wear that has no optical correction power (rendered obsolete with implants...) other than the cosmetic value of showing more interest in any social conversation, and also fashion statement....

dont think will hav time to finish, got a flight to catch in 12 hours time.

dragonroseart: i like the way you've incorporated the double helix into the design

zenichi: i like the way you've tried to incorporate a more traditional yet futuristic twist on to the monocle, however wouldn't the spikes on the ring hurt the wearercaus if i rember right with a moncle you use the top of the eye to hold it iin place

im having to do mine traditional this week as my graphics tablet doing sumthing funky and im not sure how to solve it

yup, was thinking along the line of the eye-lid holder from clockwork orange...

probably need to do mine in traditional if given the time, as usual, cos mine intuos4 wont be coming til 2 weeks later!
