    Possible art theft?

I've come across something that's been bothering me for a while. As an artist you can sense when some things just aren't right. A person (edhu00) submitted some entries for a monster creation contest for a game which can be found http://www.playrequiem.com/forum/for...sts=47&start=1. I did not enter myself but while browsing a few entries I was immediately alerted. The username is "edhu00". You will just need to scroll down a bit.

    1. There are lots of entries. I do realize that people may have some past drawings but... Well, you'll just have to see.

    2. Some drawings are inconsistent. There's sketches, but some don't quite fit in with some down the line. That may be due to some being older newer sketches, it's hard to tell. A prime example would to look at the two CG samples at the end and compare to the rest.

    3. Iffy .jpeg? Most artists would want a high quality file like .png, or high quality .jpeg/.jpg.

    4. This person seemed to appear out of nowhere. Posted their entries and that was it. No talk on the forums and especially on art or the fanart forum.

It seems the person speaks either Spanish or Portuguese (I don't know either of those two languages) so if they happen to be an art theft then might have gotten the art using Span/Portu "keywords" or an artist like that.

Even a name of the artist would be wonderful, thank you~!

I tell who IS stealing there. Username "Jonay". His "Nabocop" is a 1:1 copy of a painting by Wayne Reynolds from an older D and D manual. The original monster is a Kolyarut, depicted under "Inevitables" in the book. This person has copied it, maybe not massively accurately, but yes sir have they copied it!
And EduHoo is almost 100% guilty. No artist I know switches as freely between cartoonish and realistic pictures.

It only proves how miserable they are at art, so that they have to show off with others

Thanks everybody! If you have anymore information on the entries and who they really belong to then I'm still looking. I want to get this guy

Someone on DA pointed out that http://namesjames.deviantart.com/art...essed-47028865 was made by James Ryman. Just to add to edhu00's list.

The thing is, they don't care about a future in art. They're using other people's artwork to win prizes.

Any competent judges would spot stuff like this immediately. In a serious competition these jokers would be disqualified in an instant. And if the competition is just some amateur affair then the prizes are likely crap anyway.

Nadesh's entry is pretty much Mephisto, isn't it?
    Diablo II, anyone?
And yeah, Jonay's NABOCOP is Kolyarut, D&D monster.

    The middle one, see?
    ...This makes me so sad.
