Hey man Great works. Love the rendering in the portraits. I really like your sketches. Would love to see more of your pencil stuff. They got a certain charm to them. Also the digital sketches are great but i think too much of the black scribbles is kinda distracting. I think you would benefit from using a grey tones for sketching. But it still depends on your preference. Keep them coming.

Is there some sort of watch-function here on CA? I want to watch your thread since I like your style. I'm writing this message in the hopes of not losing sight of your thread, and I'll return later to really check it out and give some constructive criticism (if I can and if you want to).

Fess1001 - thanks man! yea 3D is actually something that i have only recently gotten into, but damn do i love it!! the stuff you can do with zbrush is just intimidating!
Christoffer - thanks dudee!! i love you
Icey - thank you so much man! really means a TON coming from you! i am such a huge fan of your stuff!! thanks and i will try to not dissapoint! a big finished painting is on its way!!
Veshkau - thanks man!! yea i know what you mean, a lot of my designs tend to be focused on minute details, and i tend to lose the overall picture as i get carried away.. something i need to work on, maybe try really small thumbnails for charactr designs? i dont know ill try some things. also dude your latest enviro studies are awesome! really a big inspiration!
sin eater - thanks man, your right, i do need to lose the scribbly linework in my stuff. i am just lazy. there is no excuse. i need to experiment more with starting off with values, rather than lines.
Yemi775 - thanks! im glad you like the stuff in here! lots more to come!
PollyBoffin - oh yea, i think near the bottom of the page (if you click on advanced post) then you can set a menu bar to follow. but im not sure i deserve it haha thank you very much! also yes! i am very open to receiving feedback! thanks for offering!
Ana Caspćo - thank you! haha i will!!
Grey_Rift - thanks!! i need to make more...

    ----------------------------------

heres just a quick head sketch. finally done with my school semester. i wish i could say that i am on break now, unfortunately i have to take two extra classes over the break, so its not really a break. but oh well, im still gonna really try to bang out some studies and concentrate on areas that i need to fix, like painting over lines, and working on color balance, and enviros too. so stay tuned! oh also like a really quick enviro study (inspired by Vesh!!)

Now, finally, 80 pages later, I can give some critic.

    First the good stuff:

    Love your comic style
    Love your inking
Don't ever, EVER lose your gift of making interesting looking characters/creatures
    Don't ever lose your creativity
Don't ever lose your quirky sense of humor

Critic (take it for what it is, an amateur's thoughts):

I know you're aware of it, but the tilting to the left (less pronounced in your later work, but still there) is annoying, it makes some of the images a wee bit less good
Keep up your anatomy studies, you've improved greatly, but there are still some inconsistencies/areas of development
Less lineart, more clean colour pictures/value studies - the lines get in the way at times
Something is missing in many of your coloured/gray scale pictures, more contrast maybe?
    More environmental studies
More Jackie Estacado, can't have enough of him XD

    Over all:

    Love it, so keep drawing/painting!

PollyBoffin - hey thanks a ton for the in depth critique and input!! i really appreciate it! i just set up a bunch of my tablet buttons to have more productivity in my work, so ill be flipping the canvas a lot more now to check the balance and weight of myy figures, and im tryingt to paint more directly without the guide of starting with linework. so thanks a bunch dudde!! really appreciate all the input!!

cool thumbnails and concepts man! the creature silhouettes look good but i'd like to see more rhythm in the shapes. it also appears like you're getting into rendering too soon, try blocking it out in all black first just to get a feel of the shapes themselves without getting lost in value or rendering. keep up the good work!

Like the potential on the 3rd one from the bottom, but the line of gravity on the giant monster is off to me, maybe emphasize the pose you wanted to convey more, or search for some references to help on that.
I think that with the giant monster worked on the composition will improve alot on terms of it's dynamic and interest.
    Continue working
    Happy Christmas!

    Hey Nick, Merry Christmas pal.

That new landscape up there is awesome. I think I'll chalk that success up to Kingkostas for his critique though, haha! Just kidding. Some variation in strokes would make it really killer though. I've found recently that even just switching around between three different brushes makes a huge difference.

I like this illustration with wolverine and the big dude too. I think the big guy's right leg should be coming into the foreground though. He might fall on his face with both feet fading into the distance. And those clouds are a prime target for some . . . whatyoumaycallit, perspective.
