i really like your zodiac warrior, but why arent you using the whole possible value range? you could create more depth by doing that!

    AliceA - ha thanks!

    alexson - thanks bro!!

Parsakoira - thanks man! it was a struggle, but im glad i finally finished a chow. i may do the next one too, since a pretty sweet topic, well see if i have enough time. yours came out awesome too! good luck in the next round!

jatherip - well, at first i wanted it to have more crisp edges, but then on a suggestion by Pxelslayer, i decided to make the water a bit more murky, and try fr more atmosphere.

I think your line work is really coming along. Some very nice stuff done in pen here.

Your rendering feels at its best on pg. 29, with that demon dude sketch. The colors and values really work there, and they compliment the design well.

Cool stuff dude, can't wait to see where this goes!

Hey Nicky. Watch that girl, someone has to catch her because she seems to fall on her nose!
It looks like her feel for balance is screwed up, so take care of perspective.

    cheers, Acki

    Nickodemus - thanks alot man!!

    Medusoid - thanks man!

Acki - yea, her whole figure is really weirdly porportioned. i was focusing too much on design, and not on her figure as much.

Medusoid - ha yea, oh well. it was mostly to get some sort of design going.

Velocity Kendall - haha, i was watching independence day on tv, and i forgot what the aliens looked like, so i was just doodling some from memory.

I remember seeing that movie on about July7 when I was... 13? In Kansas City. People went absolutely mental, clapping and cheering. It was awesome!

haha bloody room mates stopping you from creating rt! Great work none the less. I like those facial expression studies, that is something that we should all do more! William Hogarth was a huge supporter of that sort of study, and would often make studies on the street of people's interesting expressions as he saw them. If its good enough for Hogarth its good enough for us lot on CA :p

No crits really, just keep doing what you're doing because the improvement is visible!

AHHHH your getting so much better and posting so much more than me!! Really sick character design your working on are you going to paint in some lights? Or were you going for more of a graphic look? The line looks pretty awesome.

dude the lineart on the latest sketch looks great! so clean, and detailed.

good to see you're still posting new content! keep working on those poses, maybe do some shorter gestures, or some really extreme poses, it'll make the basic standing ones seem like cake

    ...the imperfections make it interesting...

    ThomasM - big thanks man!!

Medusoid - haha, nah the linework is actually done in pen. but i think its easier to sketch clean lines on paper than with a tablet. -oh yea, and posemaniacs is a good site, but dont get too hung up on it, sometimes the figures look a bit stiff, due to the cg models.

bpic - thanks man! -but your improving much faster than i am!! and yea, i was planning to paint that character up a whole lot more.

Dope Fiend - thanks! i know i know, i keep telling myself that, but i cant find the time lately. its number one on my to do list!

    Parsakoira - thanks Parsa!!

    ------------------------------

heres some recent pen doodlage. dont mind the proportions haha.

Man, your anatomy is so tight. Loving that super pissed off batman sketch. I have much problems when it comes to the abdomen area with the serratus muscles and all that shit! Keep up looking hot!

each little muscle pops, and the line work continues to improve, but judging by the last post, the face seem to be giving you trouble, maybe work on some facial anatomy?

I like your pen work Nicky it seem you understand it better, i feel you can do better on the digital ones but maybe you a slacker like meh, just a thought try workin on top with some pencil to indicate volume and such and maybe rework the stuff you think are not there im sure it;ll do you good. im not so good with patience either but its needed if one wants to see progress.

The view that art should not be political is in itself a political view.

Dope Fiend - yup. haha my faces need alot of work, although these mma guys did have their faces pretty messed up from the fights.

    AliceA - ha thanks Alice!

Lav - yea, i used some shitty ref that had him stretched looking, and somehow it ended up spreading to my version, although thats a pretty weak excuse haha.

Medusoid - your mean dude!! thats it im making a couple pages of sequential work, Krillen is about to OWN SOME SHIT!!

easydrawing1 - i am a total slacker with my digital work. for some reason, i can see it clearly in my head, and i get over anxious about putting in the fine details, but then as i start chugging through it, and making overall changes, and refinements, i lose that clear image i started with, and have a hard time keeping the crisp details in sight. ive got to come up with some sort of solution. ill try yours though, it actually makes alot of sense, if im understanding you correctly. thanks man!!

    ------------------------

the lined paper was done during class, so much for taking notes in math haha. and the heads was for practice, but i didnt use any refs. so it wasnt practise, more like procrastination...
